"You can't beat him like that." the old toad was saying. "You wouldn't even have a chance!"
"Well why not?" Naruto asked. "These sages techniques got me through the fight with Nagato alright… even if there were a few problems…"
Fukasaku sweat dropped as he looked over the destruction caused in the battle with Pain. "Well, I don't know how you categorize "problems" but I'd say that the complete destruction of the village and deaths of the villagers wasn't very minor."
"Oh come on!" The fledgling sage said, "They got better! Besides, why won't the sage techniques help me? All I gotta do is find Sasuke, rough him up a little, have a heart to heart afterward, and I'm sure everything'll be fine!" Naruto said with absolute confidence.
"No. No I don't think so. If Sasuke has been training his sharingan techniques, it's completely possible that he is now as proficient in genjutsu as his older brother was. Senjutsu won't do you much good if you're trapped in an illusion." Fukasaku nodded to himself.
"Well then, the heck am I supposed to do?!?" he cried. "I'm horrible when it comes to genjutsu…" he trailed off.
"Well…" Fukasaku started. "Well.. there is one technique… maybe" he finished dubiously. "But I don't know if it's something you can handle…"
"What?" Fukasaku had to cover his ears. "What is it? Anything that'll help, please!" he begged.
"Well, there is one sage who specializes in genjutsu, and he has one technique in particular that might be exactly what you need…"
"Who is it?" the new savior of Konoha asked eagerly.
"A cousin of mine, he's from out of town you see..."
"Naruto."
Naruto stood a few feet in front of him. He was practically giddy.
"I've finally caught up with you…" He looked up. "…Sasuke."
"So you have," he said in a near monotone. "…so what of it?"
"I'm here to bring you back! This time Sasuke, I'll definitely bring you back!" Naruto shouted. With that, he stared directly into Sasuke's eyes.
'Fool' thought Sasuke. 'Still as impetuous as ever-' that was when he noticed Naruto's pupils were looking decidedly odd. At first they seemed to be in a square, but then they would glow a rainbow of colors and stretch out across the rest of his eye.
'Wha.. what is this?' Sasuke thought. 'Some sort of doujutsu..?' was the last thing that passed through Sasuke's mind for quite awhile.
When Naruto came back to Konoha, no one had been expecting the person he had brought along. In fact, there had been quite a bit of trouble getting him into the Hokage's tower.
"I'm back, Baa-chan! I told you I'd do it, too!" Naruto excitedly explained.
Tsunade, the reinstated sixth Hokage after her recovery, blinked. It seemed too good to be true. Unbelievable at the very least. But there he was.
Sasuke was standing there, right next to Naruto. How has he done it? By all reports, Sasuke was completely beyond redemption, and had become an agent of Akatsuki no less!
"This is… highly irregular, Naruto." She said. "How are we to know if we can trust him? In fact, Sasuke, I want to know right now. Why did you decide to come back?" The sixth Hokage demanded.
Naruto gave a weak, embarrassed chuckle and said "Well, granny… it's like this… well… tell 'em Sasuke!" he turned to his longtime rival.
Sasuke looked at Naruto, and then looked back to Tsunade, who jut stared back, and said
"ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD"
Authors notes: I'm not much for actually writing fics, but I've been wanting to read something like this for a while. Hypnotoad Naruto just seemed too funny… anyway, total spam :p
