"I wish that Buffy Summers had never come to Sunnydale," Cordelia told
Anya viciously. It certainly took long enough for Cordelia decide, but
Anya though that those were always the best wishes.
She turned to face Cordelia. "Done," Anya proclaimed.
"That would be cool!" Cordelia said clearly enjoying the idea.
What the hell? In an instant, Anya recalled the other timeline. She
managed to control her reaction so that only a little confusion showed.
Damn that librarian!
"No, wait," Cordelia said. "I wish that Buffy Summers had never been
born."
"Done!" This had better work this time.
***
"Stop!" Anya cried. "How do you know that the other timeline is any
better?"
"It matTERS not," Kendra replied firmly. "'tis not fer you to reMOVE
SlaYERS from de line o' succesion!" With that, Kendra smashed Anya's
amulet...
***
Not again! Oh well, that timeline wasn't nearly as interesting as the
first one Cordelia had wished for.
"And I wish that Xander Harris never agains knows the touch of a
women," Cordelia added, clearly enjoying herself. Before Anya could do
anything, Cordelia began to head for her next class and made another
wish. "AND I wish that Willow wakes up tomorrow covered in monkey
hair."
"Done!" Anya repeated, not even waiting for Cordelia to finish.
***
"Stop!" Anya ordered. Not again...
"Willow! Catch!" Xander yelled, snatching the amulet and tossing it to
Willow. Unable to touch him, Anya turned to the hairy Willow,
"Give me the amulet, Willow," Anya said with as much sweetness as she
could muster, "and I'll grant your fondest wish."
"And have it turn into something icky?" Willow replied. "Uh uh! Kiss
my monkey pants!" With that, Willow smashed the amulet under foot...
***
Three wishes nullified in a row! Anya was getting very frustrated. This
had never happened before!
"In fact, I wish that all men," Cordelia continued, "except the stupid
and really beautiful, disappeared off the face of the Earth. That would
be really cool!"
Watching Cordelia's retreating back, Anya thought it over. Should she
grant this wish? What would be the point if it got nullified again? On
the other claw, a manless world appealed...
"Done," she muttered under her breath.
***
"I thought you wanted all men gone," Anya said, "with a few...notable...
exceptions."
"Are you kidding?" Cordelia exclaimed. "The guy who does my perms is
gone! So's my father who pays all my credit bills. Without my butler,
who's going to clean my room?"
"Nice to see that you priorities are straight, Cordy," Buffy said
drily.
"Shut up, I'm on a roll," Cordelia said absently. She turned back to
Anya. "And my car's broke down! Who's going to fix it now..."
"Alright, alright! Anything, just so that I don't have to listem to
your whining!" Anya interupted, smashing her own amulet...
***
Anya decided to find another scorned woman. Cordelia was giving her a
major headache.
