AND I COULD TELL YOU
DISCLAIMER
Drabble on Zack from Jessie's POV. Just a friendship thing. Title comes from a line in the Taylor Swift Song "I'd Lie" and the some of the content pretty much comes from the song. Takes place in the second season, sometime before "Rent-A-Pop". I don't remember if they ever said if Zack had owned a dog when he was younger, but for this fic, he did. From what I remember in the show, the Morris' seemed to be semi-rich. Belongs to Miller-Boyette and NBC.
To everybody at Bayside, Zack's the big man on campus, flirting with all the girls, ruling all the guys. But that's not the real him. I could tell you how even though it doesn't seem like it, he's actually really smart. He just hides it really well. I could tell you his favorite songs or his favorite bands, and how he'd do anything for someone he considered a friend or family. I could also tell you how he wishes that his dad wasn't always working but he would never admit it. He'll just brush it off and brag about getting some new toy from him. And he doesn't like people seeing him cry. Like when his dog Rexy died…oh! He was a mess! But he wouldn't admit it to anyone. He just played it off like he didn't even care. But I remember finding him crying in his room. And even though he pranks people, and tries to pull a scam on everybody, he's actually really serious about honesty. I can't really blame him though. In junior high, he was burned by a friend who wasn't truthful with him. It really shook him. They had been so close, and then he was betrayed. Yeah, I could tell you everything about Zack. His favorite colors are blue and green, and oh---he can argue. He loves it. He can talk circles around a person. He'd probably make a really good debater, but he'd never join the team. He's more of a football and basketball kind of a guy. He loves sports. He's also my best friend and he was with me through everything, my parents fighting, them getting divorced…I remember running to his house across the street the night my parents finally told me. Anyone who thinks they know Zack would say that he just brushed my feelings aside and made light of the situation. But I know better. I can tell you exactly what he did that night: he held me in his arms and let me cry. And I could tell you the real reason he's so hung up on Kelly: it's not just because he thinks she's attractive, though that plays a big part. He also loves her personality. How happy she always is, how she looks for the good in everyone, how she's there for her friends…but he'd never tell you any of that. No, he's more comfortable with having people think that he's just your typical teenage boy always following his hormones. Yeah, Zack gives off a good front, but I could tell you everything about him. I could…but I never will.
