Tenten's POV

I was sitting in the bus seat, staring out of the window. It was raining outside, and the glass was splattered with raindrops. There was a constant chatter of restless kids around me, but I easily tuned it out. Besides, my thoughts were otherwise occupied…

Neji was always in my mind, his pearly white eyes, his silky dark hair, his sweet little smirk. Contrary to popular belief, he was actually a very nice person. He was my friend, my person to talk to…. and my crush.

I watched the rain run down the window. There was this one raindrop that was right at my eye level. It was steadily running down the glass, slowly gaining speed as it engulfed smaller drops. On its way down, my raindrop joined with another. With gained speed, it continued moving down. Then, all of a sudden, another drop falling from the sky hit my rain drop, forcing it and the other one apart. Only this time, my raindrop was even smaller than to begin with. There was only a tiny bit left of it left, clinging to the window for dear life. The other raindrop joined with another, and ran off the bottom, leaving my raindrop alone.

This was just like my life, I suddenly realized. Every raindrop was a person, and this window was life. To join with another raindrop meant love, but if the raindrops striking the window were sorrow, pain, depression. I looked back to my depleted raindrop. It was going more slowly now, the outside raindrop having destroyed what little it had. A while back, before I moved to Konoha, I had a boyfriend. His name was Kiba. After I moved, we lost touch, and I was heartbroken.

My raindrop was now moving more steadily, but still very sluggish and jerkily. It had taken me a year to heal as much as I had, but it still hurt. But, here I am, so stupid enough to fall in love again. I'm so stupid.

Another outside raindrop nearly hit mine. Earlier in the year, another boy had asked me out, but I was still in too much pain then, so I refused. The boy was killed later in a traffic incident.

My raindrop was now traveling beside another raindrop, close, but not quite joining. Neji, my friend. The only one I made in this new school. Everyone else shunned me, thought I was strange, ugly.

All of a sudden, the Neji raindrop swerved and joined with my raindrop. I stared in amazement as the Neji raindrop and my raindrop, now joined together, ran off the bottom of the window together.

I was jerked out of my reverie as I heard the bus doors squeaked open. Neji climbed on the bus, dripping water onto the floor, but still looking beautiful. Droplets sparkled like crystals in his hair, and he had that cute little scowl on his face.

When he saw me, his face lit up, and he sat down beside me. "Some day, huh?" He asked, brushing a stray strand out of my eyes. My breath caught in my throat, and he smiled a little bit. I remembered the raindrops.

Neji grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Don't you just love rain?"

My face turned about five shades of red. "Yeah," I murmured softly, squeezing back. "I do."

His eyes were full of amusement, and he kissed me softly on the lips. "Me, too. Love you, Tenten. Will you go out with me?"

My heart altogether stopped. "Yes. I want to go out with you." I smirked playfully, and gave him a kiss of my own before whispering in his ear,

"I love you so much more."
