"MATSUMOTO!" Hitsugaya yelled, furious. His daughter had found Matsumoto's stash of Sake, and he wasn't too happy with the results. Momo was panicking next to him, trying different things to keep her curious child from getting any more of the wine.
"What is it, Taichou?" Matsumoto walked in, yawning.
Hitsugaya glared at her, and pointed at his child and Momo.
"That's Miki and Momo. And?" Matsumoto said, looking at her captain. "What was I called in here for, Taichou?"
"Look CLOSER, Matsumoto!" the white-haired captain ordered, still angry.
"Oh! My Sake! Thanks for holding it, Miki-chan!" Matsumoto squealed, taking it from Momo. She glanced at him again, and then at the exhausted Momo, who was panting on the couch.
"...Oh." the auburn-haired woman sighed. "My Sake stash. What did she do, that sweet little Miki-chan?"
"She ended up getting a gulp, Matsumoto. You hid it in her crib, didn't you?!"
Matsumoto shrugged, smirking. "She asked for it. She kept reaching her hands out. I couldn't resist, and since you and Momo were both out for squad business, I thought-"
"So you DID!" Hitsugaya yelled angrily.
"Calm down, Taichou. She'll be fine. I'm guessing you're just a worried father. You feel that at the beginning."
"Says the girl who had 13 kids with Gin..." Hitsugaya muttered under his breath.
"Hey!" Matsumoto pouted. "You'll have more. Trust me."
Momo, Miki, and Hitsugaya froze.
Momo's head turned. "Wrong words, Matsumoto-san."
"But won't you? It was just an innocent question." Matsumoto continued pouting.
"She's right, though." Momo smiled, looking down and turning 'normal' again.
Hitsugaya sighed and turned back to his paperwork, muttering something inaudible.
"Shiro-chan was just worried." Momo assured her friend.
"I suppose." Matsumoto said, walking out. "I'll be more careful next time, Taichou! I promise!"
"...Right." he huffed.
Momo just laughed it off, and this particular memory was forgotten.
But not for long.
"MATSUMOTO!"
