Paige was sitting on her bed praying to god that the fighting would stop soon. Her parents had been at it all week, throwing things, screaming and yelling about nothing. She covered her ears with her pillow and started crying. She already had enough stress, trying to write a four page essay on a country of her choice. "Stop it!" Paige screamed as tears ran down her face. She couldn't take this anymore. She got up and looked around her room, finally approaching what she had been looking for, scissors.
It seems unlikely for a popular girl like Paige to turn to cutting, but she remembered Ellie did it to relieve her pain and stress and decided if it was good enough for Ellie, it was good enough for her. She looked at the shiny scissors and brought them closer to her arm. When they first touched her skin she got scared and pulled them away. Then she heard her brother joining in on the screaming from downstairs. She brought the scissors closer and made a little cut.
