Author's note: this is my first fic, so please, be nice in the reviews.

Rose woke up, sensing something was wrong. Something was wrong with the Doctor. Grabbing her robe, she set off to his room. Along the way, she heard soft cries and moans, she quickened her pace. Was he hurt or sick? After facing the last of the Daleks that morning, she had been concerned for him and her worries were now justified. Either she was very lucky or the TARDIS was in a helpful mood, because Rose found the Doctor's room after opening the first door she tried.

He was in bed, torso bare, he was soaked with sweat, he was thrashing about and tears were streaming down his face as he spoke to his pillow.

"Please, let Rose go. Take me instead. Don't hurt her, please! I need her!" he said. "I'm lost without her! Don't kill her!"

Rose's heart broke for him and she fought back tears. She hated seeing him in this condition—vulnerable and upset. She wanted to wake him up and comfort him but she couldn't move.

"Please, I love her. Please, just let her go. I lost her once; I can't lose her again! I love her, just let her go!"

She couldn't stand it anymore. He loved her. He really loved her! No wonder he was always so protective of her—he loved her. The Dalek's words had been true. She launched herself onto his chest. "Doctor, wake up! I'm here, it's alright!" she said. "I'm here."

He woke up, panting. Then he realized Rose was there and instantly crushed her in a tight hug. She hugged him back as he cried, whispering gently in his ear, "It's alright, I'm here." Though she wasn't doing that good a job, tears had come to her eyes too and she was crying.

"Oh, Rose," he murmured. "I thought I lost you. Don't go."

"I won't," she said. "Not now, not ever."

When the tears had dried and he let her go, he was looking relieved she was there and alive. She touched his face. "I heard what you said in your nightmare."

"You did?" he looked away. "How much did you hear?"

"All of it. Look at me," she ordered gently.

He hesitated for a moment before complying.

"Listen to me, I love you, Doctor. I think I have since the moment you grabbed my hand and told me to run."

Tears threatened him again. "You mean it?"

"Yes," she said. "I do."

"Oh, Rose," he kissed her heavily on the lips and she returned it. "I love you so much."

After drying himself off, they got back into bed and held each other close, not wanting to let go. All they needed and had was each other and that was enough.
