Toph
Stepping into the solid stone ring, the Blind Bandit prepared for her first test as a master earth bender. She had never challenged anyone before; only crafted the earth in the lowly tunnels beneath the wealthy town of Gaoling; taught only by humble badger moles and one selfish old man more keen on her parents' wealth then any skills she might have. The Blind Bandit was ready to push herself further to find the limit of her unique abilities.
Laughter is what met her in that cold ring. Her petite form and sightless eyes brought mockery from the rough crowd and weighed heavily on her from all sides. She just smirked and let the insults slide off her toughen hide. All her life she had lived with the pity. They would know and understand soon enough.
One by one they fell. These fighters were not even a challenge, feeding into their own hype. The Blind Bandit trapped them all, waiting and listening for the perfect moment to strike.
Six fighters and one champion later, the Blind Bandit hefted an ornately decorated belt twice her size into the air.
"BANDIT! BANDIT! BANDIT!" the crowd roared, cheering her prowess.
Guards escorted her back to the changing room. There she shed her disguise and dressed into her elegant robes befitting her post in society.
As she ran out into the night, Toph Beifong could still hear the echoing, haunting cheers of the Earth Rumble crowd. Hundreds of feet walked right past her towards bars to continue celebration not even noticing her, the one for which they were cheering. And Toph knew that no matter what she might do in this life, she would always be overlooked.
And while she didn't shed a single tear, she knew.
She would always be alone.
