Kate was sitting on the beach, staring at the ocean that seemed to be never-ending. Lost and alone as she was, she never felt like when she was near the ocean. The ocean always made her feel calm, even if she knew that things were not alright. She had ruined many things in her life, but may be she could make it right here on this island.

Kate knew that there was a way, but to reach that what she so dearly wanted, she needed someone too. Someone who understood her and could always help her no matter what the situation was. That someone could be Jack, but Kate knew that wasn't the only man in her life now. She was also thinking of somebody else at certain times, Sawyer.

Kate and Sawyer had many things in commom that made it easier for them to understand eachother at some times. However, Jack was better in understanding her anyway, but did sometimes not understand why she did or had done certain things. A few times, Kate had indeed silently agreed with Jack that he was true. Some things in her life should have been differently, she could have lived better and in a way safer.

Kate felt that from this moment on, she could do everything if she just wanted it hard enough. Moreover, it might at some points be better to just tell the truth even if it was difficult. May be then for once she would even be understood by Jack if the lies weren't followed by lies and finally ended in truth.
