AN: Hello again. As per my last post i am re-writing this story. I wasn't to happy with the way it was turning out before so i have changed certain things. I am going to delate the other parts. I hope you will like this version much better than the other haha. I have also changed the look of my character too. So Kára Lindberg will be played by Katheryn Winnick.

Kára Lindberg was sat outside on the balcony attached to her penthouse apartment. Her mind wandering whilst she swirled red wine around in her glass. It was dusk and the pink purple sky actually made Manhattan look pretty. She took a sip of her wine and continued to gaze at the city view. A tiny click was heard accompanied by three very quite people. Sandalwood and spicy notes floated on the air and Kára knew exactly who had broken into her home.

"Hello Fury" she sighed. He only 'visited' when he needed something.

"Kára" he greeted back as he stood next to her, looking out at the view she was still gazing at, not at all worried that she knew it was him who broke in.

"I see you brought some friends this time." Kára looked over her shoulder and saw Steve and Natasha looking very awkward as they stood in the doorway to the balcony.

Fury made no comment as he continued to look at the scenery. Evelyn took another sip of her wine before placing it on a nearby table. She was use to the silent game they played and waited for him to speak again.

"I take it you know why I am here?" Fury finally spoke, breaking the silence.

"No, I have no idea why you broke into my home" Kára replied sarcastically.

"It was the only way I knew you would listen to me" he replied.

"You could've knocked on the door like a normal person, you know" she smirked.

"Kára, stop playing games" Fury reprimanded.

"You where the one who started them" she retorted.

"Enough!" He shouted, making Steve jump in the background at such a change in emotion. He then turned to face Kára.

"I am cashing in that favour you owe me," He continued with a deadpan look on his face.

Those words wiped Kára's smirk off of her face and her lavender eyes narrow. It must be something important for him to use it so soon.

"Do I have your attention now?"

"Didn't think you would use it so soon Fury. Your precious team not good enough?" She sneered, upset and slightly on edge as to why he wanted her now.

Fury ignored her comment and continued, "There is someone new to earth. Someone who wants war and I need powerful people to help protect what is ours. I have a few other people on board and with you too, we will be able to stop him."

He paused and looked back at the city, the city he loved so much and would do anything to protect it. His face turned serious again.

"So pack your things we are leaving tonight" Fury then walked back inside without giving Kára time to negotiate.

Kára sighed, regretting her past mistake at telling Fury she would pay him back some day. She picked up her wine glass and drank the last of it before walking back inside.

"Make yourselves comfortable why don't you," She mumbled to herself as she spotted the three agents sitting on her lounge, like they belonged.

She placed her empty glass on the kitchen bench and went to her bedroom before any of them could answer back. She placed an empty suitcase on the bed and started packing. She knew this day would come, but never expected it to be this soon. She reluctantly packed and took as much time as possible, once she was done she quickly walked back into the living room just in time to over hear the end of a conversation.

"How do we know if we can trust her?" Steve asked.

"She owes me one and she wouldn't dare break her word. She knows the consequences if she does. " Fury smugly replied.

"Bastard" she thought as she coughed to get everyone attention. 'Two can play at your game Fury' she thought again as she smiled, she walked over to the elevator and pressed the down button.

"Be a dear Fury and get my bag, its in the last door on the left." She commanded as she walked into the elevator and pressed the ground floor, not waiting for the others.

It wasn't too long til the others joined Kára in the lobby, Fury had a scowl on his face and refused to talk to Kára and Steve ended up being the one to carry her items. She simply followed Fury to his car and got in the back seat. Steve placed her items in the boot then got in the front and Natasha sat in the back next to Kára. The car ride was silent and was so awkward Steve kept fidgeting.

It was an hour before they where on the helicarrier and Kára was in her room, if you could call it that. It was shoe boxed sized with a single hard bed and a desk, very minimal very small. Kára vowed to herself there and then never to make another deal with Fury, or for anyone that matter. She loathed being told what to do and Fury knew it, he thrived off it.

After Evelyn unpacked she lay on her bed, looking up at the ceiling. Fury had yet to tell her the terms of her service and once she knew, she would do it as fast as possible to end the contract, even if it meant finding a loophole. Before she could close her eyes a knocking at the door was heard. She slowly stood up and answered the door and Fury stood there.

"Follow Me," He commanded as he started walking, not waiting for Kára to catch up.

There shoes tapping against the metal floor was all that could be heard as they marched somewhere, it was a very ugly place, full of metal and had a space aged theme about it.

"I don't have time to give you all the details, but I need you to watch someone. He is very tricky and you're the only one I know who wont fall asleep on the job." He instructed.

"So you brought me all the way out here to do what. Baby-sit someone. Gee Thanks." Kára hissed.

They soon entered the briefing room to find the whole team there. Steve, Banner, Tony, Natasha, Clint and someone Evelyn didn't know.

"Everyone this is Kára. I believe you know everyone but Thor over there." He ponied out to the Blond God holding a hammer.

Kára couldn't believe her eyes. Back when she was a human she worshiped the Norse Gods and to find one there in front of her very own eyes, it was unbelievable. She had to stop herself from going onto her knees and praying.

"Wait, how does she know our names?" Clint asked, but Fury shushed him.

"I have to go and talk to our prisoner, please everyone play nice whilst I'm gone" Fury commanded as he walked back out the room, ignoring Clint.

Everyone muttered yes's and as soon as he was out of the room, Kára took a seat at the table. Every now and then she would glance at Thor making sure he was still real and she wasn't going mad with old age. "Hey, why are you eyes that colour?" Tony rudely asked. "I don't know Stark, why is your face like that?" She mocked in return. A few sniggers could be heard around the room before Tony turned around and glared at everyone in the room. "How do you know who we are?" Clint asked from across the room. "I like to keep up to date with certain people, Top of my list is Nick Fury. Anything to do with him I make it my business to know too." She commented as she picked at her nails, trying to stay cool and collected whilst looking like she hadn't a care in the world. The Tv in the middle of the room switched itself on and drew everyone's attention. Fury was in a room with someone in a class box. This was the person Fury wanted Kára to babysit, she could off scoffed but decided against it last minute. She tuned out Fury's droning voice and kept starting at Thor; if he was real Kára wondered who else could be. She decided to ask him later when they where alone. Soon the Tv was turned off and everyone was sullen, Kára hadn't paid much attention so she didn't know why the mood in the room was so tense. Though she did hear something about an ant and a boot. "He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Banner asked no on in particular. "Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor what's his play?" Steve asked. At the mention of the work Loki, Kára was fully alert. Out of all the God's she always had a weak spot for the man of mischief. Mainly because she was a naughty child who loved to prank others and the tails her mother use to tell her would always make her excited, even the scary ones. So Fury wanted Kára to look after Loki, oh she had no problems with that all right. In fact it might even be fun. A smile crept onto her face as she suddenly stood up and without another word left the room.
