Connor walked out of the ARC or what was left of it with Nick in his arms. Helen shot him without just cause. The team had lost their leader and friend. Becker laid Nick on the ground
"Oh Nick" Jenny and Abby rushed to him. Connor was holding the black cylinder Nick had given him. He was now the carrier of a great burden
"Get an ambulance" Lester told one of the soldiers next to him. He never liked Nick very much but learned to put up with him
"It's too late" Jenny, Lester, Abby and Sarah looked at Connor. Abby, Connor, Jenny and Sarah all had tears in their eyes and streaming down their cheeks. Abby didn't want to believe Nick was dead
"What" Abby was devastated; she loved Nick like a father. Jenny knew she should have told Nick that she loved him before he ran back into the building and now she had lost him forever
"Oh God, there was something I was going tell him" there was a faint coughing noise coming from the smoke. Someone was still in the ARC
"Well why don't you tell me" the hairs stood up on Connor's, Abby's, Becker's, Sarah's, Jenny's and Lester's necks. 'It couldn't be he's lying in front of us' Connor thought. Connor turned around whilst the others looked up into the smoke. Nick walked out of the smoke completely unharmed. The tears of sorrow turned to tears of joy. Jenny got up and ran into Nick's arms
"Oh Nick" Nick held her close. He loved her. Not Claudia but Jenny. She had so many of Claudia's attributes but there were others that completely belonged to her. He loved her smile, her bossiness and above all her beauty and caring nature
"Cutter" Connor couldn't believe his eyes neither could the others "But that's impossible you're lying here" Connor pointed to the body lying on the ground. Nick and Jenny broke their embrace but they kept their arms around each other
"It's Helen's clone; I was knocked unconscious by falling debris" the group all smirk with relief "Didn't think I'd abandon you all just yet did you?" the group all laugh even Lester. They were all just relieved the real Nick Cutter was alive. Nick turns his attention back to Jenny, who was still in his arms "Now what did you want to tell me?" the team just look on with smiles on their faces especially Sarah. Jenny had told her earlier that day she was in love with him and now she had the chance to tell him
"I love you" Nick smiled as he looked into her eyes. He knew he was finally over Claudia and was ready to move on "I always have" Nick was sure now that Jenny was the one for him
"I know and I love you Jenny Lewis" Sarah looked at Becker and sighed. She couldn't bear it anymore the tension was too much
"Oh for god's sake kiss already. The tension is too much" Nick brings his lips down on Jenny's. It was one of the best kisses he had ever experienced and he had experienced a few. It was even better then Claudia's. The team smiled and nodded their head whilst Lester rolled his eyes and shook his eyes
"Finally we thought it would never happen" they break the kiss and look at Connor "What?" Connor looked around "What" Abby shook her head
"Oh by the way Connor you owe me £20, I told you it would be Jenny that would make the first move" Nick and Jenny look at each other then at Sarah with disappointed yet curious looks on their faces "Sorry" Lester rolled his eyes again and walked away
"So how about that drink" Jenny looked at Nick and smiled. She had totally forgotten about the drink
"Yeah why not" Nick and Jenny walk away with one arm around each other. Connor, Abby, Sarah and Becker walk behind them whilst the medical team take the clone away. Everything was as it should be, well at least for now that is.
