SBC official. I wrote this after my friend told me that I should write a romance story because I'm 'a bit soppy' So, here goes nothing...
I never should of told her...
So there I was. My face bright red, holding my breath as I waited for a reply. She hadn't spoken in ten seconds, although it felt like 10 years. I could feel the earth spinning beneath my feet. Then I heard her mutter -
"Luke, erm, I, well..."
Why!? Why did I have to tell her? I mean, I knew I had to tell her sometime, but I didn't plan to tell her today, and I most definitley didn't plan to tell her like this. I could tell that the stammered speech that I had just heard was all she was going to say, and I certainly wasn't going to speak anytime soon...
So we just sat there, on the sea wall at the beach. I stared into her big brown eyes as they welled up with tears. I had no idea whether they were tears of happiness or sadness - maybe even anger. I have to say that it seemed that, at that moment, the last two suggestions were probably correct. Oh lord - What have I done?
I never should have told her, and I really wish I hadn't...
I felt vomit rise in my throat and all I could think was 'please don't make me throw up on her!'
Thenshe did the last thing that I expected -
- she kissed me...
and not on the cheek either...
I knew that she'd stammer in speech and I had expected her to cry - but not to kiss me. Not to actually kiss me!
I had a million thoughts going through my head, but the only one that stood out was,
Oh my god! What in the universe is happening!?
As she pulled away, I remained speechless, but she just turned to me and said,
"And I love you too, Luke..."
It was then that I actually felt that feeling for the first time, the feeling that makes you realise that this person is the one that you're actually supposed to be with...
I may only be thirteen, but I know that that person is Flora Reinhold...
Romeo and Juliet, eat your heart out! Okay, Okay - it is short, but I really like romance stories. Please review it! It's the first romance I've written so I would really appreciate your reviews...
P.S: Death note or Professor Layton? This is a debate that is often brought up between me and my best friends, so help us settle it once and for all on my profile...
