Author's note: It is my first fanfiction ever, so don't be too hard on me. I planned this to go on for about 1 or 2 more chapters. Enjoy and don't forget to comment!
Disclaimer: I don't own Castle, that's the privilege of Andrew Marlowe.
For security reasons
It had been nearly 5 hours since she got assigned to this spot and she left it only one time to go to the bathroom. She barely moved at all, instead scanning the area for any troublemaker. There was not a lot of action, since it was a restricted area, but every now and then some crazy drunk girl would try to get to the backstage, hoping to get to the artist. U2 was playing tonight and though the crowd was pretty loud and excited, Kate Beckett did not have as much work to do as she thought.
It was probably a different story for the others guys closer to the stage, she thought.
It wasn't the first time Kate worked as a security guard to round off her income as a police officer. As much as she loved her job, it did not let her splash out money like it was nothing. And she was planning to get new furniture for her apartment so this gig was really a good thing.
She checked her watch. Almost 10 pm. That meant 3 hours to go. She sighed.
Out of nowhere, the door flung open and a young woman came out. She was clearly intoxicated and smelled like it too. Her hair was a mess, her make-up was way over the top and her clothes seemed two size too small for her. The girl seemed lost, like she didn't expect the door to open. But she rapidly regained her self and started laughing loudly. She was barely able to put one feet in front of the other, but she still tried to walk to the backstage area, this time shouting Bono's name.
Kate immediately approached her.
- M'am, this is a restricted area and you are not authorized to be here. I'm gonna ask you to get out.
- Oh, shut up! I just want to see Bono and take a picture with him!
- It won't be possible. Now please go back or I will have to do it myself.
The girl started screaming and tried to get passed Beckett. Kate blocked her, taking her by her shoulders. The girl did not appreciate and started to get violent.
- Bono! I'm here! Come get me, there's a mean woman who's stopping me!
Kate changed her position and immobilized her, then pushing her through the door she came from. Once outside, the girl seemed to forget what just happened and started to dance and sing like everybody else, a little more intense, though.
Kate returned to her position, trying to wipe out the beer stain she got from handling the drunk girl. Great, she thought, now I'm going to smell beer for the rest of my shift!
It didn't took more than 15 minutes for the door to open again, this time letting a tall man enter. Kate walked straight to the guy, looking at him and analysing his risk potential like he was a suspect in one of her cases. Tall, broad shoulders, brown hair, wears a suit, does not seem to be drunk…wait, what? A suit? Who wears a suit to a U2 concert, she asked herself. This is when she looked to the man's face and nearly stumble.
The man standing in front of her was none other than her favorite author, the best-selling novelist Richard Castle.
- Hi, I'm here to see Bono?
