A/N: Okay so this is my first Buffy fanfiction, I hope I do the show justice. The furthest reference I will make is to season 5 maybe further once time goes on, I'll let you know in later chapters, and this is sort of a songfic.

Now I know what some of you may be thinking.

"Oh great another songfic, where all you see is the lyrics of a song retyped. Why did I even click on this silly thing? Why did they write this weird opening authors note? That's it I'm out!"

Well for those of you who stayed, thank you! :) I promise this is more then just song lyrics retyped. There is a story here. I don't know if you'll like it, or if it is any good, but I'm goanna do the best I can.

Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy the Vampire Slayer that would be cool if I did though...

Dr. Meru Elee walked down the white corridors of the research facility with a large grin on his face. He waved to any passerby, who happily returned the smile. Even those who looked as if they were having a bad morning turned the corner of their mouths upward when the noticed the loveable, young man walk around the corner with a contagious smile and wave ready. He was young to be head of his department, not at a college age but was middle aged while the other department heads were well into their old age. But he was a genius and uplifting.

That was the way work usually was with Meru.

He was always happy, always smiling, he loved people and he loved his job. Especially the few opportunities he could perform the task he was off to now.

In his mind there wasn't a reason to be sad. Life was good. His world, everyone's world, was perfect. The cold hard ways of living were far behind them, the only thing left was the discovery and pursue of advancement and understanding. Actually no, there was so much more than that. There was peace. Love. Beauty. Humanity at its purest form.

Meru stopped just out of the reach of the sliding glass doors. He reached up to fix the identification card hooked to the chest pocket of his white lab coat. With a deep breath and relaxation of his shoulders, he took a step forward causing the doors to open slide open and reveal the occupants of the room inside.

The white walls of the small lobby were adorned with paintings both of the old and new eras. Two large windows allowed the natural light to flow into the room, removing the need for manmade sunlight. The orange arm chairs and imitation wooden end tables were surrounded with eager young faces, who looked up when the saw the man enter and walk across the black tiled floor. He smiled as their wide eyelids softened.

"Good day, my name is Dr. Meru Elee. I will be supervising your academic visit to the S&W Psychology Facility," Meru said to the young faces with his usual beam.

The college students returned it with smiles, varying in sizes, of their own. Meru could tell that some were nervous to be in a professional setting, for the first time for the lot of them, but he was going to do his best to show them there is nothing to be afraid of.

"I promise the experiences that come with the profession of psychologist are remarkable and enjoyable in all aspects, and that your visit here today will be equally enriching," Meru stated and a few shoulders dropped. He grinned at them as he walked to stand a few feet next to the window, still facing them as he spoke. "I have been informed that the class you are currently attending is dedicated to finding the field of psychology you wish to enter when finished with the graduate program. Am I correct in this?"

A few nods from the students were all he needed as he continued speaking, his facial expression never faltering.

"Right then, well I am the head of the Auditory and Optical Psychology Department here at S&W. Can any of explain the basics of the department?" he asked and immediately the hands of every one of the new graduates shot up.

"You, what is your name?" Meru asked pointing to a girl with dark hair in the front.

"Jessa. It means your department focuses on the effects audio and imagery relate to a person's soul and mind," Jessa stated confidently.

"Yes, in the simplest way of putting it, that is correct," Meru praised her with a smile which was returned with by a nod. "But my study goes beyond using image and audio stimuli to gain a better understanding of a person's essence. We deal with the effects of imagery and audio on memory in order to gain a look into a subject's thought process and basic essence. The recollections of the subject can be observed through the viewing matrix and studied for the assessment of their soul and beliefs."

He paused to take in the studious stares of eager minds ready to absorb as much knowledge as possible.

After walking towards the door, with their eyes following his every step, he stopped just out of reach as he had before he entered the room. He turned on his heels to face them again, and continued speaking.

"I assume that you all no the standard procedures of a temporal device?"

Again all of the heads nodded vigorously.

"Good. Well, we have taken the subjects from their temporal zone for a sort period of time. After countless of weeks of calculations, the Department of Temporal Association has found the precise moment in time where each of the handful of subjects would not be needed for the timeline. You lot are in a special treat. You will be witnesses of the observations of an audio responsive test on a few of the subjects," Meru said stepping forward and half-way out of the door when a blonde boy in the front called out.

"Who are the subjects?" the blonde asked. Meru's head peaked through the open doorway, his hands resting on the side of the frame. His smile seemed larger, if that could be possible.

"Like I said you are in for a special experience. It's the first time the last slayer has ever been tested on," he said then briskly walked out of the room and into the hallway.

A few gasps and the shuffling of feet came from the room as the door slide open a split second later, the bewildered graduates filing out in excitement.

So tell me if I should continue. Also name off songs in the comments please.

Thanks for reading!
