Slow Bleed

It seemed so surreal to him, lying on his side in the dirt and watching the blood slowly leak from the slashes on his belly. It seemed unnatural. Unreal. It shouldn't be happening to him. He was Tigerstar, leader of the greatest clan in the forest. He couldn't be dying. Not him. He was too powerful to die, too important to the future of the forest. He was better than death. Death was below him. He couldn't die. Not like this. This was pathetic. His stomach had been slashed by a cat half his size. He was better than this…

We can't help you any more, Tigerstar.

Harsh words, words from StarClan echoed in his head. Through his blurred vision, Tigerstar could see Scourge standing nearby, just staring at him. He tried to speak to him, but all that chocked out was a hideous shriek. Horrible pain ripped through his body as he convulsed.

You brought it upon yourself.

The once powerful leader stared stupefied at the blood oozing from his belly. All around him, TigerClan fled in terror. He tried to call out to them, to stop them, but all that came out was a gurgle. He was powerless.

You don't control them anymore. They thought you were invincible, but you're not.

Tigerstar convulsed again.

You're a traitor and a murderer.

The forest around the powerless leader swam. He saw a slivery silhouette stalking among the trees.

You got what you deserved, murderer.

Tigerstar shrieked once more as the silvery figure drew closer, its fiery eyes smoldering with hate. White hot pain shot through his body.

Murderer!

The tabby convulsed and tore at the grassy ground as burning claws seemed to rip through his flesh, cutting into his very soul.

You killed, lied and deceived to get what you want! You destroyed so many innocent lives! How dare you defile your ancestor's forest! Why couldn't you simply live in harmony?

A thousand voices seemed to yowl into his ears. He convulsed again. More blood flowed from his body. The ground around him was stained crimson with his blood, and Scourge just stood there and watched. The forests swirled in a foggy mist and faded from view. The once powerful cat struggled wildly to hold onto his life, but it was rapidly slipping away. He was dying.

You deserved it.
