Chapter Four
Derek hesitated before reaching over and taking his phone, he didn't even glance at me once as he took hold of the it.
My eyes were fixed on the phone as he looked at the text. His fingers wrapped around each side as he held it in his hand.
I couldn't make out the girls name, I think it began with C, maybe G? I don't know.
Derek looked at the phone and then tossed it back onto the sofa and smiled at me. I smiled up at him, I trusted Derek after all it was probably nothing to be worried about, but it didn't hurt to ask, did it?
"Who was that?" I said looking up into his sparkling eyes as I rest my head on his chest.
"Oh just Chrissy, she's gone shopping and asked if I wanted anything." He smiled looking down at me as he stroked his fingers through my long hair.
Of course! Chrissy, it begins with C, duh! Chrissy is Derek's older sister. She's really nice although I'm not as close to her as I am to Derek, strangely enough.
I smiled up at him stroking his chest slowly as he stroked his fingers through my hair and down my back slowly as we watched television together. Although, I wasn't listening to the television just the slow beating of Dereks heartbeat.
"Soph, Soph wake up." I heard Derek say softly as he gently shook me. I looked up at him sleepily as my eyesight came into focus.
"You fell asleep." He laughed as I began to sit up.
"Sorry."
"Don't be silly. Hey, it's late and you still seem tired. Hows about I drive you home?" I looked at the clock, it was only half past seven but I was really tired.
"If you don't mind." I smiled as I sat up next to him.
"Of course I don't mind." He smiled taking my hand as we both stood up. I reached over for my jacket and bag and we head outside to the car.
He opened my door and I climbed in fastening my seatbelt as he climbed into the drivers side and began driving to my house.
"Friday tomorrow, doing anything babe?" Derek said as he drove down the street. That had been the first time he had ever called me anything other than Soph or Sophie.
"Not that I know of, yet." I smiled over at him as he drove, I leant back in the car. It was a lot more comfortable than Jamie Lyn's even if it wasn't as expensive.
"Not got anything planned to do with Jamie Lyn and the girls?" He said in a slightly surprised tone. I didn't blame him though, after all, I had been putting him off quite a bit recently to hang out with the girls.
"Jamie Lyn's meeting Lee tomorrow night, Trisha's going shopping with Brandon and it depends if Jay's doing anything, so Mel doesn't know yet." I said as I rested my head back on the chair looking out the window.
"And you?" He smiled taking a hand off the steering wheel and taking hold of mine. I wrapped my fingers around his so they were locked together.
"I told you," I laughed."Not that I know of." I smiled down at our hand stroking my fingers against his slowly.
"I know what you're doing tomorrow." He smiled at me before parking his car.
"Oh really? And what might that be?" I smiled slowly undoing my seatbelt as I fixed my eyes on his.
He leant over and kissed my cheek gently before pressing his forehead against mine looking into my eyes as I looked back into his.
"A surprise."
