Once, long ago, in a town once located not too far from here, there was a dying king.

That may sound like a terrible story beginning, but stay with me.

Anyways, the king had a daughter. Simple enough. But he needed a successor. Therefore, he had to find a prince to marry his daughter.

Luckily, two twin princes lived not too far from the castle. The king sent out a summons to them, and the next day they arrived.

Both were tall and athletic, with tan skin and dark brown hair. They both wore iron chainmail and leather beneath, hiding their faces with large hoods. They both carried large, diamond swords on their backs. And they both shared the same desire for the princess.

So the king welcomed them into his court and introduced them to the princess. The princess, of course, wished to see their faces.

And they gladly removed their hoods.

They both looked almost exactly alike, looking as if their faces were carved from stone. The only difference was quite subtle, actually. One, the younger, had emerald green eyes. The eldest, however, had none. No irises, no pupils, nothing. His eyes were blank white.

The next day, the princess was asked to choose which prince she wished to marry.

And she picked the younger.

This sent the eldest into such a great rage that the gods themselves quivered in fright. After the new king had been crowned, he stormed through the throne room and confronted his brother with an army of undead monsters.

But the new king was ready.

He had every human, dog and cat in the village armed for war, and soon they destroyed the eldest and his army. The king decreed that his brother be removed of his status and his name, and thrown into the dungeons to be tortured for eternity. Any mention of his name was an automatic sentence to death.

And such was done.

But six years later, the eldest escaped. He broke out of the dungeon and fled to the hills in the north. He was never seen again. The castle was torn down and turned into a manor for the rich and powerful in the turn of the era.

But some say they can still hear the screams of torture, the cracking of whips, and the whispers of a name long forgotten...

What's the name, you ask?

Well, I suppose this is a new era...

The name of the eldest brother, whom was sentenced to death hundreds of years ago, is...

HEROBRINE.
