A Stargate Wedding

A Stargate Wedding

Disclaimer:  I don't own anybody, but I sure wish I did.

Jack stood at the top of the ramp in front of the Stargate. He was waiting for the women he loved more than his own life.  Today they were getting married, and he couldn't believe she had chosen him, out of all the people she knew, she had fallen for him.  Jack knew he had a bad track record, but he would do his best to help this succeed.  Jack looked toward the back of the room as the doors opened.  There she stood.  She looked toward him and smiled.  The smile that had helped Jack to realize he loved her.  As she walked toward him, Jack was in her eyes his own worries reflected back at him.  In that moment, he knew everything would be all right.  There would definitely be hard times, but their love would get them through it all.  His bride joined him at the top of the ramp.  The ceremony began.

"If there is anyone here that thinks that these two people should not be married, speak now, or forget about it," the general said to the crowds. Some one in the back of the room stood up.

"I'm not disagreeing with the circumstances here, but, its about time these two got married!" the person called out.

"I'm sure many people here agree with your statement.  No one else?  Good.  Let's continue.  Today we come together to celebrate the marriage of two of our colleagues.  Many of you probably think this day is long over due, but we should be glad it came at all.

"Do you both swear to comfort each other in sickness and in death, good times and bad, and no matter what the Goa'uld throw at us, uphold your respect, and your love for each other, till death do you part?"

"We do," the couple had decided to say their vows together.

"Place the rings on each others left hand as a symbol of your everlasting love and commitment to each other."

After the rings had been exchanged, the general continued.  "You my kiss your bride."

The crowd cheered as Jack kissed his bride.

"I present to you Colonel and Mrs. Jack O'Neill," General Hammond announced.

The group left the deportation room following the bride and groom.  They headed to the commissary where a reception had been set up.  The sign above the door read "Congratulations O'Neills".

After the toasts, and dinner, the floor was cleared of tables and an impromptu band of SGC personnel set up.  The first dance was for the bride and groom.

Jack and his bride walked into the center of the room and began to dance.

"I guess I'll have to call you 'O'Neill' from now on, huh?" Jack teased.

"Oh, I don't know.  I never said I was going to change my name.  Besides, what would Teal'c call me?  That would be way to confusing.  I'll probably hyphenate it," she responded.

"Well, then I'll just have to call you Sam from now on," Jack kissed her forehead.

"Then I'll just have to call you Jack," Sam Carter-O'Neill told her husband.

"That sounds good to me."

Sam and Jack danced into the night with family and friends celebrating their new life together.
