Impossible for Me to Hate You

Disclaimer: I dun own Spiral. Feel happy.

Here's a small fic I wrote on a night of angsty thoughts and fighting friends. So this is dedicated to Leah, I sincerely hope we can go back to the way things used to be, when I could tell you anything… And you would listen…

Kousuke walked the same halls to the same little corner as every day not knowing that today something was very different. He waved to Ayumu and Hiyono as he walked past. Arriving at his little spot, he quickly glanced around to make sure everyone was there, nodded to Eyes, Kanone, and Rio, and went over to where Ryoko was standing.

Ryoko was standing at the window, looking distantly out into the fog on the other side of the glass. She sighed and crossed her arms across her chest. Seeing him coming, she quickly wiped the distant glance off her face.

"Yo, Ryoko." His usual greeting met her as she turned around.

She nodded, "Hey…" She said quietly. She really wasn't in the mood to see him this morning seeing as he was the reason he was feeling so down. But did he know? Not a chance, not Kousuke.

He cocked his head curiously to the side, "What's with you?" He asked, hearing something off in her voice.

"Oh, nothing." She shot back sarcastically turning away.

"Hey, Ryoko." He said, grabbing her shoulder to stop her. "Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

She whipped around and almost yelled, "Actually, Kousuke?! No, I'm not okay; I'm not okay at all!" From out of nowhere, tears started forming in her eyes as she yelled at him. "But you didn't really want to know, did you? So why don't you just pretend I said 'I'm fine.' And turn around and walk away! …Just walk away, Kousuke!" She spat.

As she said this, Kousuke got a hurt and almost overwhelmed look in his eyes. "Ryoko…" Was all he managed to say.

Her eyes glazed over, Ryoko yelled, "Just… GO!" As she turned around to rest her elbows on the window and rest her face in her hands. Trying to stop the sudden rush of tears, she wiped her eyes. What the hell is wrong with me? Why cant I keep my emotions in check anymore? She thought, trying to get her thoughts together.

From behind her, Kousuke said quietly, "No… I'm not leaving, not this time."

Ryoko slowly turned around and lowered her hands not saying a word.

"No, Ryoko. I've watched you walk out that door too many times. You know that road, and you know exactly where it ends." He said gently, knowing now why her face showed so much when he was there.

Tears forming in her eyes again she tried to yell, "You see? That is just like you Kousuke! You say things like that and you make it impossible for me to hate you! …And I hate you, Kousuke… I really hate you."

Kousuke simply smiled and stepped closer to her. Ryoko's face softened and she managed a small smile, knowing that he could see right through her…

Okay, I wasn't originally going to post this, but I decided to after a fight with a friend… I really hope it turns out this way… I still need you... If even just to talk...
