Thunder and lightening exploded outside her window. Her dog barked and howled as the storm raged on. The lights flickered continuously.
Her eyes were glued to the TV. The weatherman headed warnings to more than a dozen counties. "Stay inside folks. This is going to be the biggest storm of the year!" He said.
She raced upstairs, and threw on her swimming suit. Then dashed out the door and into the rain.
The wind and water smacked her left, and right. Her make-up ran down her face. The lightening blinded her eyes. And the deafening thunder echoed inside her head.
She started to run down the middle of the street. Barefoot, she ran with her arms raised to the sky, laughing with glee.
Over the thunder, she heard the screeching of car tires. She didn't think much of it, until a heavy metal object slammed into her body, and rolled on top of her.
Blood and water filled her collapsed lungs. She felt as though she had submerged into the ocean, and was now sinking to the dark depths.
