Hi everyone and welcome to my new fanfiction. As you can tell from the title it is called Shattered Memories. I couldn't really think of a good title, but the title came into mind when I was listening to Shattered by Trading Yesterday. But anyway I hope you enjoy chapter 1!

Chapter 1: Flashback
15 years ago in a forest there where two adult chipmunks, they were carrying three young chipmunks fast asleep, there was a fourth one who seemed to be the oldest out of the young chipmunks. They looked like they had been running from something, but what?
Not much further from where the first family was, there was another chipmunk family, but unlike the first one there was only one adult chipmunk but there were also four young chipmunks. Two were asleep being carried by the adult chipmunk and the other was being carried by the eldest of the four young chipmunks. They also looked like they had been running from something, but what?
Who are the eldest of the four young chipmunks? I hear you ask. They are Alvin and Brittany.
One of the adult chipmunks from the first family spots the adult chipmunk from the other family.
"Vinny!" the first chipmunk said.
"Gina!" Vinny replies as she runs over with Alvin in tow carrying one of his younger siblings. He looks like he is about to cry from fear.
"Vinny where's Tom?" asks the other chipmunk.
"They got him Mike" replied Vinny.
"Who got him?" asked Brittany who also looked frightened.
"The monsters" replied Alvin.
Just then there was a gun shot in the distance. Alvin and Brittany screamed.
"We have to get moving" said Mike.
"But where do we go?" asked Vinny.
Gina looked around the forest 'There must be somewhere anywhere!you will never tell them' she thought. Then she saw it. It was an old pine tree that provided just enough shelter and safety for all of them.
"Over there!" said Gina as the pointed to the old pine tree.
"Hurry!" said Vinny as she heard the gunshots getting closer.
As they started putting the eight young chipmunks into the tree they heard a twig snap.
"What was that?" asked Vinny.
"They're here" replied Max.
Gina put the last of the young chipmunks into the tree.
"Alvin, Brittany you two have to promise me that you will look after your siblings and if they ever ask about us. You have got to promise me that you will never tell them about anything that has happened tonight. Promise?" asked Gina.
Alvin and Brittany nodded, tears falling down their faces.
"Gina! Quickly!" shouted Vinny.
"Coming!" replied Gina.
She then turned to Alvin and Brittany.
"Bye" She said as she hugged them both. "Live well" and with that she jumped out of the tree to where Vinny and Mike were.
Soon after Alvin and Brittany heard a gunshot and three screams followed. Then it was silent.
Their parents were gone.
So there it is chapter 1, just to clear something up: Vinny and Tom is the chipmunks' parents and Mike and Gina are the Chipettes' parents.
Tom, Mike, Gina and the fourth sibling from each family is an OC but they will be re-introduced in a later chapter.
Anyway I hope that has cleared things up, or maybe it hasn't. I don't know. Also I will put the promo picture and the drawings of the OC's on my Deviantart account so check that out. But until next time. BYE!
