Author's Note: This is strictly just for fun, I don't intend it to be a story, I just wanted to write this down. I always seem to place Ruby at season 2, but really its the only season she was a main character; sadly.
Ruby was cleaning the tables on the outside of the Dinner as Archie passed by on his daily routine, taking Pongo on a walk.
"Good day Ruby"
"Morning Archie" she said smiling as she continued her chores, but Pongo didn't walked any further, he barked once bringing Ruby's attention.
"What's wrong boy?" Archie pulled on the belt but Pongo whimpered once more trying to get into the Dinner.
Ruby smiled and kneeled in front of him petting his head.
"What's up, buddy?" she asked Pongo and he started to bark and howl several times "You don't say?" she narrowed to Archie "Have you tried to tell him, though?" Pongo lowered his head "I get you, is hard for them to understand, but hey, I can tell him if you want" she looked up to his owner "he doesn't like the leash anymore, he needs to run free for a little"
"Oh!, well, thanks Ruby, I will try that this afternoon then, what do you say Pongo?" he looked at his pet, who battled his tail several times.
"Good" said Ruby and Pongo barked once more "sure, I would love to go with you sometime" Pongo licked her cheek and Ruby flushed cleaning the saliva off "yeah I know, it sucks to be the only ones around, can't believe the curse broke and the only visitors we have try to ruin us so often, but no pack or whatsoever" she smiles a bit sadly looking for something in the bottom of her purse "here, have a snack" gave it to him and he enjoyed it "I know, they are good, right?" she caressed his ears once more before looking down "I get how lonely you can feel with no other like you around" Pongo lowered his head softly whimpering and then stood starting to peace around a little a bit panicked growling.
"Wh-what's wrong?" struggled Archie holding the leash firmly.
Ruby took Pongo's face into her hand stared directly into his eyes "slow it down a little, pal, what happened, who took them? And how many of them?" she listen carefully "a hundred and one? are you sure buddy, that's a lot of pops even for a Dalmatian" Pongo nodded and continued "Adoption, got it, sure I will help you find them, they must be here if the curse broke"
"What are you too talking about?" Archie asked confused looking between his dog and Ruby, whom he was about to offer therapy.
"His puppies were kidnapped by some⦠crazy lady that wanted to used them as a coat"
"Cruella de Vil!" said Henry coming out of the dinner. Pongo started to bark desperately impatiently trying to free himself from the leash.
"You know her?" asked Ruby
"Yeah, she is the villain in Pongo's story, I was wondering if that one was true"
"It appears to be so"
"So how do we find them?"
"I don't think your mom hid 101 Dalmatians in Storybrook, they must be somewhere else"
"I will ask David about the animal shelter"
"Alright, buddy, seems like we are about to find a hundred and one Dalmatians"
