A.N/ I don't own Harry Potter.

Potter is not synonymous with perfect.

To you, it seems that everyone seems to forget that fact.

Potter, Lily Potter? Oh my Merlin, you're Harry Potter's daughter? Aren't you?

You're forever grateful for the constant reminder. After all, it always seems to slip your mind that you're father's name is Harry Potter. It always seems to slip your mind what he's done for the world.

It's not as if the diligent paparazzi ever alert you. Nor do the whispers, the pointing fingers, or the stares ever make you aware. The requests for pictures and autographs never tire you out (of course not), you're Harry Potter's daughter.

You're the daughter of a man who constantly stops and whole heartedly accepts the thanks from what he's done. He allows pictures and never tires from making public appearances. The man who puts everyone before himself and (never failing to not disappoint) recounts his tales for those who ask, the old, the young, the intrigued, and the enthralled. Shouldn't you be expected to carry on this legacy? Shouldn't you be expected to do the same?

But you don't want to. You would much rather you were the daughter of two insignificant muggles; maybe the daughter of a milkman and a housewife; two professions that didn't tie you down with fame and expectations.

You try so hard to escape it all, escape the role of 'Perfect Potter Princess' you had been cast in since birth. You do everything. Your thirst for independence lands you in Slytherin, you love it. But you're still not free. They just whisper of how the Potter girl was put in Slytherin. Potter Girl. You feel as if that's your real name, after all, that's who everyone knows you as.

"Oh that Potter girl's in Slytherin." They say.

"Oh that Potter girl is an excellent seeker." They say.

"Oh that Potter girl has a knack for potions." They say.

"Oh, did you hear? That Potter girl is dating the Malfoy boy." They say.

Everything you do, everything you are, everything you make will never be just yours. It was be known as another one the Potter family's accomplishments. Even your name isn't yours, it's a hand-me-down. A hand-me-down with a legacy attached, that you can't possibly grow into. And you wish that someone would realize that you're suffocating trying to grow into it.

You also wish they'd realize that you aren't 'the Potter Girl'; you're Lily Luna and nothing else, nothing more … nothing perfect.

A.N/ Okay, I'm not entirely sure what this is but I love Lily Luna and this was supposed to be some insight into her character. Please review, even if you don't wish to favourite, I love (need) feedback.
