"Is there a problem, Detective?" Xanatos was smiling as he walked up to her on the ramparts of the castle, which only set Elisa's teeth on edge even more than they already were.

"Yes, there's problem Xanatos," she answered with a growl. She gestured down to where the kid in the fancy outfit was talking earnestly to Goliath and Hudson, his two "gargoyle" friends beside him. "Haven't you figured out who those two are yet?"

Xanatos tried to look innocent. "His two best friends?"

"They're Donald and Goofy! How can Donald and Goofy be in the real world?"

"Well, if you go by what Sora has told us, apparently there are a lot 'real worlds' out there." Xanatos shrugged. "It wouldn't be so surprising if you'd read up on your Heinlein, Detective."

Elisa rubbed her forehead, trying to gather her thoughts. "And it doesn't bother you at all that two Disney characters are in New York City, on a quest to do... something, and that they just happen to look like gargoyles?"

The billionaire shook his head. "Detective, I'm one of the richest men on the planet, and a member of a thousand year old conspiracy to control the world. I own a medieval castle sitting on top of a half-mile tall building, which I put there specifically so I could wake up a set of statues from their thousand year old sleep, mostly at the behest of Goliath's crazy immortal ex. My personal secretary is Puck from a Shakespearean play, my mother-in-law is Titania, Queen of the Faeries, which technically makes my wife Fox a fairy princess, and my five-year old son is already well on his way to being the next Archmage. It would take a lot more than two characters from a cartoon showing up here to "bother" me.

"Well, I'd at least be a bit worried about my personal safety, if I were you."

"Always. Why now, specifically?"

"From what the kid was saying earlier, Donald is a mage too."

"So?"

Elisa's grin was sharp. "You never watched his cartoons, did you?"

Xanatos blinked and turned pale. "Excuse me, Detective. I have to talk to Owen."

She leaned back on the ramparts, looked down on the scene below, and waited for the fireworks to start.
