Set after Darcy and Elizabeth are married
I don't own anything
Elizabeth Darcy (née Bennett) was sitting in the grounds of Pemberley reading. After only being married to Fitzwilliam Darcy for about 6 months, she had got used to being the mistress of such a fine estate.
Elizabeth was about to turn the page when a pair of large hand gently covered her eyes from behind the bench, where she sat. Although Elizabeth knew immediately who it was she decided to tease her husband a little.
"Guess who?" A deep voice whispered in her ear, Elizabeth recognised the voice to be her husband's but and answered innocently,
"Mr Collins?"She could hear her husband give a low chuckle and release his hands so she could face him. When Elizabeth turned she saw a look of mock hurt but continued cheekily, "Oh, it is you Fitzwilliam. I was expecting someone else." She hid a laugh at Darcy's look of pretend anger.
"Really? I was under the impression that you thought of Mr Collins as 'the most ridiculous man ever'. Is that not correct?" Fitzwilliam inquired, failing to hide a smile.
"It may have been, but opinions of people can change, can they not Fitzwilliam?" Elizabeth arched an eyebrow and laughed a little at the blush that had spread across Mr Darcy's face. This time Fitzwilliam let out a loud laugh and walked round to the front of the bench and knelt beside Elizabeth. She put her book down and gave a pretend sigh while she stroked a bit of hair that had come in front of his eyes, "But I guess that I will have to do with you," she smiled cheekily.
"Indeed you shall." He said and got to his feet, pulling Elizabeth up with him. He put his hands round her waist as her arms circled round hid neck. He picked her up off the floor a little and spun her round on the grass. Elizabeths shrieks of protests were lost in both their laughter. He stopped suddenly and placed her back on the ground softly.
"Now who you rather had me than Mr Collins?" asked Fitzwilliam teasingly, his eyes sparkled with laughter. He lent closer and captured Elizabeth's lips with his. They parted after a moment from lack of air, Elizabeth answered with mock thought,
"I think I would much rather have you-"she smiled slyly at her husband's look of triumph then added sassily, "only by a small margin."
She laughed and ran off across the vast back lawn but only got a small way before Fitzwilliam caught up in three long strides. She giggled as they both fell to the ground softly. She layed slightly on top of him while he whispered inncontly,
"Well, if you are going to have Mr Collins then I guess I am left with Caroline Bingley." He chuckled at Elizabeth's gasp and kissed her forehead causing her to playfully hit him.
They layed there for what seemed liked hours until Lizzie got up.
"Well I must get going for dinner before I call for Mr Collins," she quipped and with that she ran towards the house with the sound laughter coming from behind.
