Sophie awoke with Robert's arm strongly wrapped around her. She smiled as she remembered that precisely a year since the trip Florence that she took with Robert after finding out that her grandfather was Grand Master of Priory of Sion. A year after her grandfather had been murdered. But it was just bittersweet for her. Gaining the love of her life and losing her grandfather. Today was special because Sophie had prepared something very special for Robert. For their anniversary.

Robert woke up and felt that the space usually filled by Sophie was empty. He blinked a few times and wondered where she could be. He saw a note gently sitting on her pillow. Robert reached up and read it:

Good Morning. I have a surprise for you but to get to it, you must use your knowledge of symbology. You won't regret. I promise. Your first item is on my nightstand. Good luck.

All my love,

Sophie

Robert rolled his eyes as a smile came to face. Just like her he thought. To Robert, Sophie was the most precious thing ever created and she would remain that way forever engraved into his heart. He looked over to the nightstand and saw a book entitled, Leonardo Da Vinci: Code in Art. The study.

The apartment seemed to be glowing with the sun's rays pouring down onto soft tiles. The view of the Eiffel Tower seemed to be more majestic than usual and the scent of Sophie's perfume lingered in the air. As Robert entered the art room, he spotted a cup of coffee with steam rising. This is too easy Sophie, I just have to go to the kitchen.

Robert hurriedly walked into the kitchen growing more and more and more anxious to find out what Sophie is trying to tell him. He saw a bar of soap and then rolled his eyes. The bathroom? Okay Sophie… this isn't really funny anymore.

Sophie smiled as she hid behind the bathroom door, amazed that her frame could fit. She eagerly awaited Robert as she smiled at the paper taped onto the mirror.

Robert walked into the bathroom and saw a piece of paper taped onto the mirror. The paper only contained a V. "Chalice?" Robert thought for a minute before he felt a warm hand touch his shoulder.

Sophie was about to laugh before she decided to get out from her hiding spot. She gently placed her hand on Robert's shoulder. He jumped as she let out a small laugh. Robert smiled and collected her into his arms and kissed her passionately.

"What are you trying to do to me?" asked Robert as he looked deeply into Sophie's eyes.

"Think about the last symbol."

"But…"

"Think about it."

Robert thought for a minute and opened his mouth to give up but stop dead in his tracks.

"You're…?"

"pregnant."

Robert felt his heart skip a beat. A never-ending grin reached his mouth.

Sophie smiled and began to speak, "I thought it would be perfect to tell you today."

"No wonder the clues were so easy."

"Hey! Pregnancy can do a number on your mind."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

They kissed again and Robert placed his hand on Sophie's stomach.

"Sophie, we're having a baby."

"I know. We're going to be parents."

"I think I know why the Mona Lisa is smiling."

"Why?"

"Because she knows that this would happen."

"I'm happy too."

The girl with almost no family is having one and the lonely boy is loved. In the end, fate has a funny way of playing out.
