The Only Thing Important
Chapter 1: I Hate My Life
I glared outside of the window as my Mother and Father tried to talk me about how fun it is to move to a new place. I put in my head phones and turned up my music drowning out the irritating talking. We were moving from New York City to a small town that I don't remember the name of. In the middle of the semester, I'm in my last year of high school.
My name is Juliet, from Romeo and Juliet. I have emerald eyes and shoulder length un-tamed black hair, I'm also 5'4. I do not do well in new places, ever! My parents were now debating on which way to go. I pulled my legs up and turned my IPod up to max.
I looked out the window to see a… cow. "Oh God!" I screamed and pulled out the ear buds "Stop the car" my dad hit the brakes "What is it?" he said looking back at me "I'M GOING BACK THAT"S THE LAST STRAW" I yelled unbuckling and jumping out the door.
"Juliet!" My mother yelled I jogged down the road. I heard the car coming behind me, so I jumped the cow's fence and booked it. I heard my mother screaming at me as I ran faster into the field. I turned my head to see my mother shaking her head and my father calling someone on the phone.
I smirked and ran even faster until I hit a very solid object, I fell backwards to see a man who was a very tall and fairly muscled. The man had a distinctive shark-like appearance complete with a pale blue-grey skin tone, his eyes were yellow and he also had wicked tattoos of gills under his eyes.
I blinked and the man raised an eye brow
"Need some help" he said
"What?" I asked
"To get away from 'em" he said flicking his head forwards to my parents
"Hell yes" I said.
The man chuckled and nodded to the horse that had a beautiful white coat and dark brown eyes.
"Um I don't know how to Um…" I said biting me lip. The man chuckled "it's ok I'll be behind you" I nodded. "JULI"T GET BACK HERE" my father yelled "Um can we go now" I asked "sure Juliet" he said.
