Natalia

Disclaimer: The only thing that I own here is Natalia and her cat. The rest is all Stephanie Meyer's.

Caius POV

I still remember the day I first saw her. She captivated me so quickly. She was nothing more than a simple servant girl. Only 17 years of age. Yet, I became putty in her beautiful hands, ever since I laid eyes on her. I must confess that, though I may seem dreadfully cruel and evil, I have always had a secret longing. A longing for….a daughter of my own. Not an immortal child though. I have never had much patience for children that young. No. I wanted a daughter who was a young maiden. A child, yet not a child. Athenodora did not approve. She said I was being foolish, that these longings would pass.

I remember when Aro brought to me Jane and Alec. He knew of my secret desires. However, Jane and I did not bond. She was to sadistic. She did not even want to be in my presence. She gravitated to Aro instead. I did not care. I did not like her anyways. I wanted a daughter that I could love and pamper endlessly. Then, she appeared in my life.

Her name was Natalia Evans. She was so poor. To her, working as a servant in the palace was a dream. A great joy. Natalia was so beautiful. She had long blonde hair, cat-like yellow green eyes, and a delicate, heart-shaped face. She looked like a fairytale princess. I loved her at once. She was so kind and compassionate. Yet at the same time, she had a fierce temper. I remember laughing so hard when she would argue endlessly with Felix, constantly shooing him out of a room, claiming she had to dust the floor and he would get it dirty with his stomping everywhere.

I remember when I made my decision to turn her into a vampire. Create for myself the perfect daughter. She would not be part of the guard of course. No, she would reign as a princess. As my equal. I took her into my chamber and confessed to her my feelings. She was both shocked and flattered. Then, I gently slid my fangs into her delicate throat. Her screams filled me with such pain I wanted to kill myself for causing her this great hurt. I waited at her side for three days until she finally woke. She was magnificent! A goddess come down from the heavens. She was white as the moon. Her eyes shone like two beautiful rubies. I wanted to cry from joy.

Her power was to communicate with animals. This was understandable, for she had had such a bond with animals as a human. Once, she saw a man in the street kicking a dog. She then led the man into an alleyway where they would not be seen, and she ripped him apart, cursing him for hurting the dog. Then, she brought the dog to the palace, fed it, and cared for it. Oh, how she cried when the dog died of old age a few years later.

Natalia was different from Jane. She allowed me to pamper her with many treasures and to love and cuddle her. You could imagine everyone's shock when I come out with her for the first time, my eyes shining with love, happiness, and a smile on my lips. I bought her dresses, jewels, and anything she could ever want. I hugged her, kissed her, and showed her much love. She said that I was the perfect father. Moreover, that was all I needed to hear to automatically be filled with blissful joy. I remember watching her first hunt, filled with a father's pride. I was so proud of my daughter. Of my beautiful little Natalia.
