Matthew walked calmly through r the bloodstained room, the floored littered with broken furniture and decaying bodies. As he licked the fresh blood from his fingers, soft words escaped from his lips, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey...please don't take my Anya away...

-A few weeks earlier-

Matthew walked down the desolate hallway, his footsteps echoing loudly in his ears along with his pounding heart. Today was the day where he would end his suffering, all the years of endless pain and emptiness. He would finally be free, they would finally notice him. He kept a shaking hand on the lump in his coat pocket, he was getting closer with every step, he wondered how much they would scream and beg..

Anya ran down the hallway, tears streaming down her face. She hugged herself tightly, her breathing rapid and short. Her mind was filled with thoughts of death and pain, without knowing it she ran straight into someone. Both trapped in their own realities, Matthew and Anya's lives came crashing into one.

-Chapter one-

Anya rubbed the tears from her eyes furiously, refusing to let anyone see her tears. "I'm so sorry! I-I didn't see where I was going! Please forgive me mr- She stopped, blushing brightly. Matthew rubbed his head, looking up at Anya. "It's alright, don't apologize. It's my fault, I was paying attention either. I hope you mind me asking but why are you staring at me like that..." He asked. Anya laughed nervously, before smiling. "It's just, I admire you greatly! I never thought I would get to meet you, Matthieu! May I call you that? I just have a lot of love for you. "She replied. Matthew turning a bright shade of red, his heart thumping in his chest.

He stuttered, "Y-you actually like me? You N-notice me?" She giggled and helped him up. "Of course! You haven't been here as long as I have but your country has done so much in so little time. Unlike your brother you can keep some level of peace, also...I think you're cute..." She blushed.

Matthew stared at her in awe, she resembled nothing less than an angel that has ascended from the heavens to grant him glory. After some moment, he finally managed to spit out, "T-thank you...how come i've never seen you around b-before?" She looked down and sighed deeply, her eyelashes touching her rosy cheeks. "I'm afraid I'm not very well liked among the others, so I generally stay far away. " A small burning arose in Matthew's stomach but quickly fading away. He reached out and grabbed Anya's warm hands and kissed her cheek. "Thank you...you saved me." She turned red and hugged him tightly, nearly squeezing his insides out. "Matthieu...do you want to go out sometime?" she asked nervously. Without hesitation he agreed, his heart threatening to jump out of his chest. With that, they made a date and said their goodbyes, going their separate ways yet again.

Matthew started to dance and scream silently as Anya disappeared from view. Smiling from ear to ear he strode confidently into the meeting room. Everyone looking up curiously at him,, wondering what could have the american idiot so happy. Matthew could still hear their obvious whispers, still confusing him with his brother, but he couldn't care less. Besides, he had a date to get ready for tonight and it was going to be great...
