The mission is simple my ass, I thought. My eyes drift slowly to the sky as the sun rises. Today is the end of my third year here. My name is Dante Smith; my code name is Swiper. Yes, I am a fox. I have been put on the planet Dorame. It is ruled by a child named Dora. She calls herself an explorer, but in truth she is nothing more than a lying, manipulative child who just wants to control everything.
As I head up to the road to her house I have my sniper in hand. The only thought in my head is to kill her so I can go home, see my wife and kids, and retire. I have been here too long as is! My grip tightens on the sniper as I see the outline of her little house. Only a few more minutes before I get there and these people are free again!
I finally reach her house and I call to her, "Dora! Come out! I have something for you!" I wait for her for a second. I am not sure she will come out, but then the door opens and the evil girl walks out with a smile on her face. "Hola! Swiper, are you here to…" Her words slowly die off as I watch her eyes staring widely at the sniper in my hands. It is aimed at her head. She gasps and before she can scream the bullet goes into her head. Her brains spray against the doorframe and on the inside of the open door. He body slumps to the ground. It lays sprawled out as her mother runs to the door.
"You killed my daughter!" her mother cries out as tears fill her eyes. She looks at me and the tears tug at my heart until she goes on, "Thank you. I loved her dearly but she was getting worse." She looks sadly down and that's when I see it. There are bruises on her eye and neck. The marks are the size of a child's hand.
"Yes, I did… You're free, all of you. So rejoice and be happy. My mission is done. As I say this the portal I have longed to see appears and I look back at the mother and smile. "Wow, it is time to see my family." With that I walk into the portal and home to my family.
