Disclaimer: Yuugiou (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters) is the property of Takahashi Kazuki and respective publishers, including Shueisha, Studio Gallop, Nihon Ad Systems, Toei Animation, 4Kids, and others. I would never claim to own it or attempt to make money off of it- just think of this as a written, free doujinshi and hopefully we'll get along fine ;)

Vocabulary: Ani-ue-sama is older brother, while Haha-ue-sama is mother.

Note: This is only vaguely Seershipping. In a slightly disturbing way. And yes, the older brother mentioned is Rishid, and Menchu Malik. One day I should consider actually writing the family back-story I use while writing Aishisu ^^;

Becoming

The visions shown to her by the Tauk have somehow become more alluring over the years. Perhaps it is simply her loneliness, for one by one her family and friends have all passed beyond her reach…except for Seto, who she willingly walked away from in order to create and oversee this clan of Tomb Keepers. Now they are fortunate to see each other more than perhaps twice a year, and as she sees his duty wearing on him, she fears that she may not see him again before the Sennen Rod is delivered into her clan's keeping.

She has married and borne children, trained well in their duty, but her husband is passed, and it had never been anything more than a marriage of convenience, an amicable understanding. Certainly she could have married, even though Karimu and Shada both sacrificed themselves in that long ago battle (marrying a sibling would have been preferable to marrying a stranger, though uncomfortable in its own ways). Seto had offered, seeking a marriage to one who would understand his loss and not hope for what he could not give, and Aishisu would have accepted if not for her visions.

Though she is lonely, she knows this is necessary. She has seen it before, seen it more times than she can now truly recall- the revival of the Pharaoh, memories lost even as his divinity shines strong. In that unrecognizable world she has seen him in he will need the guidance of his loyal servants, and though those living now will be long gone (or perhaps returned with no memory of their own), this clan she has created will remain for him.

Only recently has she gained these new visions, though, of a woman who bears Aishisu's face. Sometimes a girl-child, sometimes a young woman, and sometimes mature, a priestess come into her power. The world which surrounds her is unfamiliar, but Ani-ue-sama and Menchu are with her at times. This alone makes Aishisu envy her.

She is beautiful- strong, assured, still hopeful and determined in her duty, whatever that duty may be. She dresses differently, her clothing similar but of many varying cuts and edgings, and hair in two golden bands as Haha-ue-sama once wore.

Aishisu begins to think of this woman as a sister, a companion in duty and suffering. And yet she also envies her, the woman who still can live with her place in life and who can enjoy the company of her siblings… As Aishisu looks on her, she not only admires and envies her but wants to become her. Her skin will become Aishisu's, as will the eyes that gaze at her siblings, the hands which play with Menchu's hair and earrings, and the graceful body which never seems to display hesitation. They will become one, and Aishisu will never be lonely again…

The Tauk has shown her this future, and she has no intention of fighting against it.

AN:

The details on the creation of the clan are simply theories- as far as I can tell, canon never specified how it first began. It just occurred to me that Aishisu might be likely to recognize Atemu's need for a guide to regaining his memories, having the ability to perhaps see that far into the future.
