Another drabble I wrote based on the movie version of 'Howl's Moving Castle'... Sorry if it is a little weird...
Flying is amazing! The wind in your hair and the feeling of bliss just add to the effect. I was flying high in the clouds a couple months after the war ended. Sadly my mind was becoming more and more beast-like every time I flew.
Speaking of which, I began to fall from the sky as a pang hit my chest.
Not now! Anytime but now! I was too weak to try to save myself as my wings buckled and I shot down like a bullet. As I rapidly began losing altitude, I spotted a large machine flying below as it became larger and larger. Instinctively, I rocketed towards it and found myself hitting cool hard metal.
The breath was knocked out of my body as I collided with the structure. I grunted I continued to fall onto other parts along side the machine and grabbed onto a railing underneath it at the last moment.
It took all the strength I still had left in me to pull myself on a small porch with an old door placed on the opposite end. Leaning on the railing, I gasped for air as searing pain filled my body as I transformed back. The feathers covering my body began receding and my wings crawled back into my fatigued body.
After I was back to normal, I was smart enough to unhook the hipflask from my belt and drink it down thirstily. The flavor of pure vanilla and cinnamon soothed by aches and I was soon standing up.
My evergreen cloak flew around me as the wind blew around me. As my mind surfaced, anew question popped into my mind. Where am I? My thought was cut short as I felt magic in use. One moment we were flying high in the sky and the next I was in a valley full of flowers in front of a small cottage.
What the hell is going on? I began walking around and was blown away when I saw the sparkling crystal blue Star Lake appear as soon as I looked more carefully around.
It's only supposed to be a legend! It hesitated at the thought.
Wait that mean's this is- My thought was cut short when I heard a seductive laugh coming from the small cottage a little ways away from the small shed-like place I had found myself by. I didn't turn around then because I knew who it was just from the magic emanating from that direction.
I need to get out of here. I felt a surge of magic course through my veins as pure white feathers escaped from my body and I flung myself silently into the sky before he could notice my presence. Instead of feathers surrounding my figure, I jumped into the air and began to sprint on it trying to get out of the magnificent valley.
My skills almost got me out of that situation, but my cloak betrayed me and flew down into the water sending ripples across the smooth surface. Oh great.
Okay well I warned all of you...more will be explained in the next chapter when inspiration hits me! Please R&R if you want my to continue writing!!!
