the orphanage was still the same since they last seen it. cold, dark, and musty. it was their home ever since their mom died.

Woman- I'm sorry that you have to come back here. But maybe we can find you another home.

the social worker smiled and went to her desk in the back corner. she picked up the phone and began dialing number after number. a few hours had passed before the woman came to get Arianna and Caden. she told them that she had found a single man looking for someone to help take care of him and to love. oh yeah. that's what they all say, thought Ari. Her and her brother followed the woman out to her car again.

They drove for what seemed like hours. Country was playing on the radio, and Ari was getting sick of it.

Ari- can I change the station?

Woman- don't you like country?

Ari- not really.

Woman- oh. okay then. you can change it.

Ari reached for the knob and turned it. she quickly found a rock station. the bass from the music gently bounced the car up and down as they drove up a hill.

Woman- we should be there shortly.

Caden let out a snort at the remark. the social worker had that sour look on her face again. about 10 minutes later, they came upon a mansion. Ari looked out the window at the high gothic style arches and the gargoyles that loomed above them.

Caden- cool.

Woman- Hmph. maybe this is the wrong address.

Caden- i like this place.

Ari- there is something about it though...

Woman- well, we might as well check.

the woman stepped out of the car and onto the cobble stoned road. She lead the kids up to the French style doors. a huge brass knocker was before them. Arianna lifted the knocker and let it fall onto the door. the door creaked open and a young boy about Arianna's age peered out.

Boy- are you Miss Amelia?

Woman- yes I am. I take it I have the right address.

Boy- yes you do. Welcome to Wilhelm Estate, Miss Arianna and Caden.
