Happy Valentine's Day

"Riddler! I have a surprise for you!" Riddless yelled as she ran into the villain's bedroom (without knocking). The man sitting in front of his small brown desk snaps his black haired up with a shocked and annoyed look on his face. Once he realized it was only his assistant, his blue eyes turned cold. "Get out of my room. Can't you see I'm working?" He says motioning toward the papers laid out on his desk.

"But, Eddy, don't you remember? It's Valentine's Day! People don't work on Valentine's."

"I'm a villain. I work everyday, no matter the holiday." Riddler turns back to his papers.

"Awww, poor Eddy, why don't I give you something to commend you for all of your hard work?" She clasped her hands together and gave the man her best puppy eyes.

It didn't take long for the Riddler to succumb. "Fine! As long as you leave my room."

The Riddless jumped up and down in excitement and happiness. "Yay!" She quickly pulls a green piece of paper from her pocket and hands it to her boss and love.

He looks at it only in annoyance and curiosity. "What is this?"

"It's a Valentine card!"

Now, he looks at the object in suspicion. He's never received Valentine cards, so he didn't know what to expect. Knowing Riddless, it was probably something ridiculous and not worth looking at. But, since she won't leave until he reads it, there was only one option left. He took a deep breath and opened it. There was writing on the inside that said, "What have you got that beats only for you, that you have to hold in your hand with the utmost care. But, if you decide to crush it, I'll be gone. What is it?" A riddle? Hah, child's play. "The answer is obviously your heart." He answered without much thought. But, after he said it out loud he realized what it meant. Riddless stared at him with hopeful and loved filled eyes, waiting to hear what he thought of her confession.

Riddler was in a bit of shock. 'Did she really mean that I am what she adores? That I actually hold her heart and love? That can't be…' For a long while there was only silence between the two. Riddler trying to comprehend his feelings and Riddless anxious and scared to know of those feelings.

"Riddless…Riley, I…I- might lik-" Before he could finish his sentence, his cell phone rang. He sighed in frustration and answered the it in an annoyed voice, "Yes, what is it? Oh, the trap's ready?! Alright, your work is done, I'll be done there to check it out in a few minutes!" With that said, he snaps the device shut and jumps out of his chair. "We must go and get ready to finally once and for all capture the Bat!" He runs out of the room mumbling about shoes and keys. Riddless sighs in disappointment and trudged after him. 'How easily distracted he gets…Damn you Batman! It's all your fault! When you fall for Eddy's trap, I'm gonna beat you to kingdom come!'

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Well, it seems that Riddler hasn't fully accepted her feelings as of yet :P I'm a terrible person, muhahahaha!

Uh-hm, anyway, what did you think of it? Let me know in your review! They truly make my day J
