Good Morning

Frodo woke up, feeling great, and quickly jumped out of bed. The Sun was shining in through his bedroom-window. He dressed in his usual hobbit-garment and splashed some water in his face from the basin placed on the floor. Frodo had lived with his uncle Bilbo for 10 years now, and found it very pleasant. He peeked into the living-room where he spotted the old hobbits whitening curls from behind the top of a chair-back with the chairs back to Frodo. Frodo sneaked up behind the chair, readying himself to wake up Bilbo whom he was sure slept.

"Un-" more didn't Frodo get to say before the old hobbit jumped up, turned around and sat his knees in the chair, watching the startled young hobbit with a knowing expression and a slightly evil grin. "You won't wake me up again, young Baggins!" he said triumphantly, "You're never kind when waking hobbits, and I won't have any more of it!".

Frodo blinked, and then said;"I never knew you were so quick, uncle Bilbo!" completly astonished."I've never needed to be quick before, not in the Shire, at least," Bilbo said, "except for when I stole pies from the window-stills as a young hobbit..." he murmured, turning to sit in the chair again and sinking into memories.

Frodo smiled and walked to the kitchen to find one of his visitng cousins eating breakfast at the table. "Good morning, Pip, where is Merry?". Pippin smiled up at him, swallowing whatever he was eating on, and said; "Good morning, Frodo, cousin Merry is still sleeping. I think that he had some stomack-issues in the bathroom last night." Pippin hid a giggle. "Is that so? Well we'll let him sleep a bit longer then - and when he wakes up he can have the pleasure cleaning up after himself." Frodo said, seating himself across Pippin. Pippin was only eight years old, but that didn't stop him from eating seven slices of bread with butter and jam. How he seemed to never gain weight was a miracle.

Merry appeared with a slow pace and sat carefully down at the table. The bread in front of him didn't seem very attractive to him. Pippin clapped his stomack and walked out of the kitchen, a burp and a giggle reaching them from the hallway. "How he'll get through second breakfast I don't know" Frodo said, taking a bite of his bread. Merry moaned and began taking small bites of an apple.
