Let me tell you a story, a special story.
Once upon a time, there was a girl. Her name was Melanie. She was afraid of being forgotten. Afraid of her ideas being destroyed by the currents of time. So she joined a website called "FanFiction." She loved the people there. There, she could be herself. There, she did not have to worry about the pressure of sixth grade.
The girl wrote stories. Beautiful stories. She could write poetry too. She was a poet at heart. That's why she called herself "Star of Roselight" online. Because here, she was a shining star, her thorns unbroken.
The girl loved Minecraft. It helped her escape the bullies of real life. She then discovered the Yogscast. She loved the Yogscast so much. They made stories out of adventures, and were so fun. The girl began to imagine herself alongside them, adventuring with them. She created a character in her mind, "Starkias" who went on these journies. She began to create a fake world around her.
The girl wrote the story online. People loved it, and she felt loved. Every review was a hug, a compliment, a smile, and a friend all at once. As time grew on, she created other characters with personas like her. One called "Skye" for her dreams of adventure, freedom, and hope. Another called "Dawn" who was innocent until a terrible travesty happened to her, forcing her to accept responsiblity. Then, here was their enemy, the dreaded "Shade" who was a creature of destruction, code, and encryption.
Finally, the last persona she created was a girl named "Dusk." She was alone, heartbroken, deserted. She had no memory of her past, or her future. She had no family, no life. This was the girl's favorite, for a strange reason. "Dusk" endured life's many challenges, and eventually would become a greater hero than all pervious ones.
The girl planned ahead the story very far. Too far, in fact, for her to actually write. She got caught up, made mistakes, was pressured. Also, her grades were suffering because she stayed up until 12 AM to write, trying to hurry up. Eventually, she collapsed. She tried writing other stories, but her hyperactive imagination took over. She was failing herself.
The girl was sad and scared. She couldn't meet her deadlines. So she broke her fake world, and forgot about it for a year. She didn't know what to do, and collapsed into a depression.
My name is Melanie. I am this girl. I am alive, I am still here. So is Star, so is Skye. Dusk, Dawn, Shade, everyone's still here in my mind. I did not forget.
There is a bittersweet ending to this story.
I stopped the Aura Series. I'm sorry, I had to. But I'm a new writer, and I've changed. My FanFiction name is now "Falling Backwards Again" and I write FanFiction for a new fandom, Gravity Falls. Star of Roselight is dead. She was a great writer. The characters are still here, forever, though. Melanie is going to live her life, and write as well. I'm happy to say she is very happy now, and still watches the Yogscast ocassionally.
Thank you, everyone. I believe we all know what comes next.
Bye! :-)
