AN: Enjoy! Happy reading!
It was just another day in the Gryffindor common room. A couple of first years were sitting on the window still, watching the leaves fall of the threes. There were third years scribbling an essay that was probably due the next day. In the corner, a few fifth years were playing Exploding Snap and Lily Evans was yelling at James Potter. Yup, just another typical day at Hogwarts.
"I can't believe you, Potter! I can't believe Dumbledore would do this to me! The first time you skipped rounds, ok yeah, that was normal behavior for you; probably off with the others, pulling a prank on the Slytherins! One would think that by 7th year, the Marauders would mature to at least some degree! I can understand that you're not used to the responsibility given to you from being Head Boy, Potter, since everything you asked was just given to you on a silver platter, probably never worked a day in your life, but skipping rounds again? We've only been in school for two months! And you didn't even give me a heads notice! Either time! That's unacceptable! Tell me right now what seems to be so important to you that you evade your responsibilities or I'm telling Dumbledore to rethink his choice of Head Boy!"
James knew Lily was right, but he couldn't tell her the reason why he skipped rounds both times. It wasn't his right to tell. But he couldn't believe he forgot both times to inform Lily he couldn't make rounds! He had made it a goal to try really hard to work harder ever since he received his badge.
Lily was still yelling at him, but he knew what she was saying. He could basically write her speech for her, she'd given it so many times before. It was while he was thinking, James heard Sirius coming down the Boy's stairs, whistling. He apparently just got out of the shower; water droplets were falling off his hair. James paid no mind to him. He tried to focus back on Lily.
Sirius noticed Lily yelling at James, again. But just like James, Sirius wasn't paying attention to what she was saying; he had a date and he was 10 minutes late. He smiled; things were going perfectly. He headed towards the portrait, unfortunately having to pass his best mate and his girl.
"Potter, are you even listening to me? You arrogant git! When will you ever grow-" Lily stopped mid sentenced. James noticed her nose started to scrunch up, like she was smelling something foul. She waited a second before she asked, "Do you...smell…wet dog?"
