Alright, I wrote this right after episode 12 (Jaunedice, Part 2) and there's been more of my favorite ship, so I thought I should add it to. Short, as per the norm, but hey, I work hard on these.
"I'm tired of being the lovable idiot, stuck in the tree, while his friends fight for their lives! Don't you understand?! If I can't do this on my own, then what good am I?!"
Pyrrha reached for him, hoping that, maybe, she could console him. Just to at least let him know he was as good as she was. But he jerked away before her hand could even graze his.
"Just, leave me alone. Okay?"
She looked to the ground, the rooftop that she had hoped they would train. Spend time together. But her legs began to move back, away from Jaune, to her dorm, the library, anywhere but there.
"If that's what you think is best." She quietly said, her voice carried to him on the light, warm breeze.
She left, walking swiftly as to be avoided wiping her eyes. Pyrrha wasn't sobbing, she was too strong for that, but a few tears managed to escape.
Jaune lied, but not to her, but for a noble purpose. It was so he could live up to his family's expectations, so he could be a proper leader for his team.
She walked down the stone corridors of Beacon, heading down to her dorm room. She didn't pay too much attention to anyone in the hallway; any questions aimed at her were shot down by her glare.
"Fine, if he thinks he can just get better on his own, that's, that's fine." She tried to rationalize. Jaune was a strong young man, she could see that the moment she saw him before the opening ceremony. She helped him unlock his aura. He had a lot of untapped potential.
And it was not as if Pyyrha was blind – every time she laid eyes on him, her heart did backflips. Her eyes would flit up from the lectures in class to his sleeping or bored figure. He'd drool sometimes.
Pyyrha blushed and turned the corner to her room. Yes, she could admit it: Jaune Arc was a handsome man, like someone out of a Kasumi Hatake novel. (Yes, she read those! Though, she'd never dare tell anyone else).
And yet, this man was determined to carry his world on his own bare shoulders. An impossible feat, for anyone at Beacon.
Pyyrha just opened the door and simply fell into her bed. She was exhausted, but not physically. Her heart hurt, like it had landed the flip wrong and twisted its ankle.
Only her aura couldn't help this.
But Jaune's could.
She fell asleep after an uneasy night of ignoring Jaune rummage about their room, searching for his pajamas in the dark of the night, so as to try to not disturb Nora or Ren. Jaune kept grumbling to himself. Frustrated mentions of Cardin were hissed, but she swore he could feel his eyes on her for a moment as he calmed down.
"What makes me so great? Why does she even bother with me?"
During his tip-toeing around, she wanted to desperately to get out of bed and just hug him. To tell him that he's the best leader in Beacon.
"Because you care so much." She whispered to her pillow as Jaune's snores filled the room.
