This is a story I began to write ages ago but never published it. I have always been attached to it though, for some reason. I am thinking of continuing it on. Let me know what you think!
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, Hogwarts, or any of the characters. All of the marvelous work belongs to J.K. Rowling.
Something moved in the cupboard. Draco Malfoy stared at it intently for several moments, wondering what was inside. What could it be? He attempted to move but his mother had strapped him inside of the chair that was too high up to even think about climbing out of. He looked around the smelly kitchen for her, hoping that crying would get him out of this chair. Then he would be able to explore the cupboard.
Again, there was a rustling. What WAS that? Draco leaned forward in his tiny chair, trying to get a better view of the cabinet that was sitting under the sink. He was a curious one for such a young age, sometimes his parents were not sure what to do with him, and he was always into mischief and exploring every nook and cranny of their house, which was anything but small.
Draco knew that if he began to cry, his parents would ignore him. It never worked to cry anymore. So he had to find a way to get out of this damned chair. For numerous minutes Draco squirmed and squirmed in his chair, hoping that the buckle would loosen enough for him to get out. It was then that he realized with his tiny hands that there was a buckle! All he had to do was push the button and then he could climb out of the chair, onto the table, onto the big people chair, and then to the floor where he could stumble over to the cupboard and explore!
The idea was fascinating; with his little fingers he reached down for the buckle and pressed the button. But, low and behold, his mother must have charmed the chair to restrain him. With a loud cry, Draco began to scream. It was not fair! He hated being stuck in this chair! He wanted to move and run around and explore!
"MUMMY!" he yelled, "DADDY!" he yelled louder. He hoped that if he yelled enough, his parents would just let him have his way and let him escape. But after a few minutes, it did not work. He did not even hear a stir within his house. Frustrated, he began to squirm and slither in his chair, trying with all of his tiny might to get out. And then finally, the chair tipped. For a moment, Draco was ecstatic, he laughed with joy. Freedom! But then a second later, the chair tipped backwards with a crash. He wasn't hurt, but he was startled. With a holler, he began to scream and cry again. What had happened? What went wrong! Tears were falling fast from his grey eyes; his blonde hair was plastered to his face. He heard running footsteps, "Draco, love, what happened? I think he is getting too old for this chair Lucius.." it was the voice of his mother, but still, that did not even help. His tears continued to fall, faster and faster. He had forgotten all about his goal of reaching the cabinet.
It was this moment that his parents realized that their child could not be restrained from living the way he wanted to- drastic measures had to be taken to keep the little bugger safe. He was too curious; it would get him in trouble someday. From that moment on, his mother never left his side. So when the day came that he had to leave for Hogwarts, her heart was broken. Who knows what her son would get into?
Isn't he just so adorable as a toddler? I imagine him as getting into a ton of mischief. I have a few ideas for this story, if I do end up taking it somewhere. So please share your thoughts about it! Thanks :)
