He prefers Vanessa.

It's easier that way. She's everything he's not and it's just enough for him to handle. It's love, a relationship and never anything unexpected.

He would never be with Jenny.

Nobody would ever understand the reason to this. And never will he tell a soul. Because nobody ever gets to see the heart of Nate Archibald.

And he will never be with Jenny.

Is it possible to love someone so much, that you would rather never touch them again, never kiss them again, never be with them again, because what you want for them is above yourself?

Nate likes to think he's doing the right thing. Because there is nothing he loves more, than seeing Jenny Humphrey smile (even if it's talking to someone else, five feet away from him). And Nate knows that if he ever gave in, he would never see it again.

Still, he can't help, that whenever Jenny puts her hand on his arm to say hello, or even when she walks right by him and he can smell her flowery perfume, his heart starts to beat too fast. Because he loves her too much.

(But he will never be with Jenny)
