Forbidden Fruit
It was good for a while.
Cassie tried not to think of her shattered promise to the girl in the pictures, and just tried to remember to breathe.
It was like Adam had healing in his touch; all of the tears and pain and death melted into the background when he kissed her, traced his fingers over her chest and hips.
But then it was cold. Cassie knew the girl had won. She had paid for her betrayal and now she was alone again.
Adam's scent didn't linger on the sheets, and the apple he left tasted of her tears.
