Dreams of Forgotten Memories

by: AniDragon

A soft gasp escaped Misa's lips when she awoke suddenly. Her eyes widened and scanned her room, somehow comforted despite the knowledge of all the survailance. At least the room was familiar, and it was the familiarity that was comforting.

She needed comfort, right then, because she'd had the dream again.

If someone would ask her what the dream was about, she wouldn't be able to answer. The dream always faded away to nothing as soon as she awoke. If someone would ask her how she knew that this was the same dream that had been haunting her for a while now, she wouldn't be able to answer that one either. She just knew. No further proof was needed for her then her own feelings and instinct.

Sighing, she got out of bed and walked out of her room, not able to fall back asleep. It was still dark out, and her wall clock was showing a time that was way too early to be awake.

Wanting some fresh air, she wandered over to the balcony. It was rather chilly, and she was only wearing a thin nightgown, but the cold helped her think. Just what could that dream mean? Although she supposed that until she could remember what the dream was even about, she couldn't even start to decipher it's meaning.

And yet... She knew that it was related to the other strange occurence in her life; The holes in her memory. She could remember having a long conversation with someone in her room once, for example, but she couldn't remember who she had been talking to, or even the topic of conversation. She could remember looking at people she had never met and knowing their name. Like Raito.

Raito was a little different then the others, however. Other people she could remember knowing other things by looking at them (though if she thought back, she couldn't remember what those other things were), but with Raito, it was just his name that she had known. She had told Ryuuzaki that she must have heard one of his friends saying it, but she knew she hadn't been close enough to him for that.

"Ohhh, get it together, Misa!" She yelled at herself, shaking her head. It wasn't doing any good to keep pondering over all these things. She could think about them until she went insane, but it wouldn't do any good. Thoughts like these would just bring her down, and Raito wouldn't like her if she was always down.

The thought of Raito brought a smile onto her face, and she put her hands on her hips confidently, "Alright, stupid dream," She yelled at the night sky, "You're not gonna succeed in making Misamisa-chan miserable, so go find someone else to bug!"

After sticking out her tongue and making a face to emphasise her point, she bounced back to her room, hoping to be able to get a few more hours of sleep before she had to get up in the morning.

But even though she didn't want to let the dream get to her, she wished she could at least remember it...

AniDragon, aka Riona-chan

(A/N: Okay, so it's short, but I couldn't find any other Misa fics out there. Probably because there aren't many Misa FANS out there. But bah. I like her. She's too cute to dislike.

So anyway, let me know what you think!)
