A/N: This was just a really weird idea I had. Short and cute. Please R/R!!!
One morning, Harry was trying to find Hedwig in the Owlery.
"Hedwig? Hedwig?" he called.
But there was no snowy white owl, which was strange because Harry had not sent Hedwig off to deliver a letter.
He peered behind every owl and in every corner, but still no Hedwig.
Harry gave up and went back to breakfast.
The next day there was still no sign of Hedwig.
"Harry, stop worrying about Hedwig," said Ron. "I'm sure she'll turn up. She's a smart owl."
"If it helps, we'll help you look for her," volunteered Hermione.
"Okay," said Harry.
The three of them wandered all day around the school grounds, but no Hedwig. There was one place left.
The Forbidden Forest.
"I'll get my invisibility cloak," said Harry.
Under the Invisibility Cloak, the three of of snuck into the Forbidden Forest. They passed some centaurs ponerding over the stars, who had no idea they were there.
Suddenly, there was a loud hoot from a tree. "Hedwig?" whispered Harry.
Looking up, they saw a white Hedwig and a handsome brown owl. They were pecking each other affectionately.
Hermione giggled. "Hedwig's got a boyfriend!" she sang.
Hedwig stopped moving and glared down at Hermione. Then she saw Harry. She hooted and fluttered down to his shoulder. The brown owl flew down too. Hedwig hooted an introduction to the brown owl.
"Hey, that's MALFOY'S OWL!" cried Ron.
"WHAT!" screamed Harry as loud as he could without being noticed, which wasn't really that loud at all.
The brown owl ducked his head. Hedwig pecked Ron sharply.
"Ouch!!!" he cried.
Hedwig looked at brown owl, as if to say, "Why didn't you tell me?"
The brown owl hooted and tried to peck Hedwig, but she turned away. The brown owl flew mournfully away.
The next day, Hedwig was back to normal.
Malfoy's owl had disappeared now.
"Where's that blasted owl?" he shouted. "I need to send a letter."
Later, in Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid found a brown owl with a Blast Ended Skrewt.
