Disclaimer: I do not own Legion.

This isn't a fairy tale, but it is a cautionary tale. It's about why you shouldn't just toss your trash around wherever you want. It uses the death of a hero who wasn't a Legion member, or really had any screentime at all. Her name was Leeta 87.

Cautionary Tales: The Peel

193?

It was a warm Spring day in the city of Manhattan. Outside the university students were hanging around, enjoying the cloudless day as they studied, relaxed, had lunch, did whatever.

Lyle Norris was walking down a path with a big stack of books in both hands and a brown paper bag on top. Exhausted, he set them on a bench near a wide set of stone stairs. He sat down for a moment, and pulled out a shiny red apple from the bag to lunch on when, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Dirk Morgan toss a banana peel on the ground as he walked down the stairs.

"Hey!" Lyle yelled.

"What?" Dirk coldly asked from the bottom of the stairs.

"Don't just throw your trash on the ground." Lyle told her.

"Oh really?" Dirk asked as he marched back up the stairs to face Lyle.

"Yeah really." Lyle ordered. "Pick it up. Please."

"Why should I?" Dirk asked.

"You shouldn't just leave your trash lying around. It's disgusting." Lyle told him.

"Um, hello? This is Manhattan." Dirk said.

"Well maybe it wouldn't be like that if people like you didn't leave the trash lying around." Lyle said.

"People like me?" Dirk said, mockingly offended. "Watch it kid. You know who my dad is?"

"Like that gives you the right to be a slob."

"No, it gives me the right to be a rich slob."

"Leaving your trash around is dangerous. Someone could get hurt."

"Pfft. Yeah, right. How's that peel gonna hurt someone?"

As if on cue, poor Lita had been walking with a stack of books when she tripped on the peel.

"AAAAAHH!!!"

She went flying down the stairs.

"OOOF. UNH. OOH. Ohhhh."

Dirk and Lyle looked down at the poor girl.

"I didn't know a person's leg could bend that way. Or is that her arm?" Lyle said, horrified.

"So, yeah, I'm gonna go throw this out." Dirk said as he picked up the peel and went to do as he said.

"Yeah you do that. While you're at it, call an ambulance." Lyle looked back down at Lita. "And, just in case, get Father Donnelly from the Theology Department."

"Grandma, is that you?" Lita asked into the bright light.

The End.
