I walk down the streets, returning from another mission.
*ninmu kanryou*
Of course. I'm the 'Perfect Soldier'. It's what they expect. What they see.
Why can't they see my faults?
*you won't let them*
I'm only human...I have so many faults...I'm too cold. Too ruthless. I
can only say it to myself, and only when I'm like this. Too exhausted.
When I feel almost dead. I'm too well trained otherwise. I suppose it
doesn't matter. I probably won't last this war, as indestructable as I
may seem.
I have limits. We all do. Some of mine are just a bit higher than that of
others. But it has a price. There is nothing that doesn't. My innocence.
My youth. My freedom. At least I have my emotions, as crippled as they
can be. I don't know what to think or feel sometimes. When there is no
clear-cut objective. It doesn't matter. None of us matter. Not in the
long run of things, I suppose. I have reached our current safehouse. If
it can be called that. More like a 'saferoom'. Oh well. I turn on my
laptop, and send my mission report. Ninmu kanryou[1], of course. Then, I
lay down on the first clear space I find, and fall asleep. To fight
another day.
