A/N: Hey everyone, I know it's been a while and I say that a lot, but hopefully, I'll be able to post things more and more this time around. Hopefully you guys like this well enough since it has been a while and I think that I've been a bit rusty.

It was one of the best summers that she's ever had, and if you consider all the things that she's done in her life with the people that she surrounded herself with, then, this was definitely saying something.
It had taken years of wondering but a few weeks before summer started, her idiot of a neighbor and best friend had finally caught on to both of their feelings and found the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend. She didn't know how much better she could have started off her break.
Each day came with new adventures. Most, she spent with their group of friends but there were some days where it was just between the two of them. During those days, they discovered new things about one another; discoveries on their pasts that were never mentioned, on how well their personalities blended as well as discoveries on how badly they could clash. Every moment was different, and new, and filled with its set of ups and downs but each time, perfect.
But, she should've known better. She was Cindy Vortex, and she should have known. Known, that nothing stays perfect forever. She should have expected that moment when everything came crashing down a week before freshman year was about to start; the moment that made the events of her perfect summer disappear with the confession of two words.
