"Rox... Roxy, no. Roxy, stop. Oh my God." Dirk was looking down at Roxy, who was lying on the floor, pretending to be a 'calico cat,' as she'd put it. She had the mix-match-colored feline ears. What was that? The tail too? Well damn. "Roxy you are not a cat." He tried to pick her up, but she hissed and spat. Making a low grumbling meow, she lowered her head to the ground. It was impossible to convince her that she was a human.

He guessed that he would cater to her odd ways. He left the living room to his bedroom, and opened his closet. Throwing away all of the sharpened katanas, squeaking smuppets, and weeaboo costumes he had collected over the years, retrieving his blonde dog ears and tail. True, he did have a fursuit, but... that would be silly.

"Roxy, look." he said, walking to her on his hands and knees, playing the part of a canine. "Woof," he added. She couldn't help breaking character for a bit to laugh, but regained herself, purring and rubbing her side against Dirk's. This is what most cats did to show affection or possession. Since Dirk was a dumb blonde dog, he just allowed this proceed as he moved into a sitting pose instead. "Meow." she said, smiling. She tried to make her pupils bigger, but ended up just widening her eyes.

"Arf."

"Mew."

This went on for quite a while. Then some idiot brought out the catnip-mouse toy. Shit got real. Dirk, being distracted by the simple movement caused by Roxy's pounces, advanced toward the toy. "Mine!" she declared, jumping at it. She pretended that her claws were out and that everything in her path should be devastatingly fearful. She scratched it, attempted to take hold of it and run away. However, Dirk didn't allow that to happen, as he had ran alongside her, pushing his body weight onto her and taking the mouse when she fell.

It was decidedly the most childish display shared between two teenagers. Once, Roxy even scratched Dirk's face with her sharp salon-treated nails. There was bloodshed. This didn't stop Dirk from wanting that mouse, oh no. This only increased his desire for the object.

Roxy was lying by the couch, gnawing on the delicately scented toy. Dirk's tail flicked to the side, narrowing his eyes on the target. He placed one 'paw' after the other, closing in on both his enemy and his prize. Roxy's ears perked up, navigating to the waves of sound. Each time she had looked over, he had hidden somewhere. It was a game that was frustratingly played.

Sure, the dog was bigger than the cat. But the cat was smarter than the dog. No doubt she would psyche him out somehow. Thus, he had to be extremely careful. This was the closest to a life-or-death situation he had been in.

He stared down Roxy. Until finally making his move, he sprinted toward her and tackled her peaceful toy-chewing. She hissed, yowled, and wriggled underneath him. She pawed at the mouse that he had obtained after the attack.

"Dogs win. Cats suck."

"Give me the toy back!"

"Nah."
