Alright, this fic is short and contains references to the Anne Rice novels. If you haven't read them(I suggest them; they're great), then you might not get this. I'll try to explain. In Interview with a Vampire, Louis and Lestat are vampires. Louis wants to leave Lestat, but Lestat turns this little girl Claudia into a vampire. Louis has to stay because he wants to keep her safe. In another one of the books, Lestat admits he did this to keep Louis with him as selfish as it seems. I hope that makes sense. This explanation is almost as long as the fic. XD

Damon makes Vicki a vampire because he's impulsive. There's no thought or calculation behind it. He will not admit that he read Interview with a Vampire(hey, Anne Rice beats Twilight anyday) and even if he did, it's not like he thought that Lestat had the right idea when he turned Claudia to keep Louis with him and he would never try that with Stefan and Vicki. He wouldn't.
He doesn't think that making Vicki into a vampire will keep his brother with him like in the book and he doesn't take that into account when he's feeding the girl his blood and if anyone thinks that, they're stupid. Damon's just impulsive. He really is. Ask anyone.
(But if that is all true and he did this all to keep Stefan with him, then Damon just wants to note that he's way cooler than Lestat and Stefan is much more of a girl than Louis. But it's not true. Really.)
