It was a shame he never learnt Pay Day. If he had, they all might have been rich. They all might have had better lives. They wouldn't have to squander for cash and chase after a Pikachu that couldn't be caught. They wouldn't have to be slaves of Team Rocket.
Oh, they didn't mind working for the place. But it was nice to think they could have had a chance at honourable lives. They had their few minutes after all. One of those Meowth remembered particularly well. If he had known Pay Day, he could have been a God for those people.
Unfortunately he couldn't. And there was only so far he could pretend. And that pretend wouldn't help Jessie and James one bit either. If he had – well, they'd have had a lot fewer nights with empty stomachs.
