Summary: When did you start to wear so much make-up?
Author's note: A very simple piece, I just thought about this while I was watching 'Trinity'. Thanks to Angel Leviathan for the beta.
"When did you start to wear make-up?" asked Rodney, suddenly stopping mid-sentence on his latest theory about a new Ancient device.
"What?"
"When did you start to wear so much make-up?" I stared at him, wondering why his question was relevant to this conversation
"Why is that relevant?"
"I don't know, I just noticed."
"So?"
"So, when did you start to wear so much make-up?"
"Rodney…" I was starting to lose my patience.
"No, no, no, no, no… I mean there has to be a reason."
"There isn't, Rodney."
"So why…."
"...Am I wearing so much make up?"
"I mean, its not that you don't look good, but suddenly you've become all feminine..."
"Rodney, if you haven't noticed, I am a woman; and the leader of Atlantis may I add. It's proper that according to our social standards I have to at least look decent, even if we are on the other side of our galaxy," she paused, 'Did I just sound like John?'
"Is that it?"
"Rodney, women do wear make-up, you know that, right?" I glared at him, giving him my best 'don't-mess-with-me' look.
"Of course I knew, but you weren't using any before."
"We went to Earth, Rodney, and I was able to bring some back. The first rime round it wasn't a priority"
"So…this have anything to do with other people influencing you to use it?"
"'Other people'?" I questioned, with a really curious expression, "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing, never mind, it must have been my imagination," he started to leave the office when he turned and looked back at me, "but it does look good on you, you know?"
"Thank you, Rodney"
"At least, that's what Colonel Sheppard says!"
